Les Arcs Redefines The Mountain Experience

It's only one month until Les Arcs opens for the winter season. Les Arcs and the wider Paradiski ski area continue to be a firm favourite with UK skiers, not only because the ski area suits every type and level of skier, but because Les Arcs goes beyond offering a simple ski holiday. Winter holidays in Les Arcs offer a mix of on-snow thrills, activities in nature and an eco-conscious commitment.
An Exceptional Ski Area
Les Arcs / Peisey-Vallandry offers over 200 km of slopes, with 70% of those above 2000m, guaranteeing optimal conditions throughout the season — whether you’re an expert skier or a beginner.
- Piste lovers can enjoy the legendary Aiguille Rouge slope — the longest in Les Arcs: 7 km of descent and 2,000 meters of vertical drop, from glaciers to apple trees.
- Freeride enthusiasts will love the untouched slopes and wild landscapes that deliver pure adrenaline.
- Freestyle skiers and snowboarders can show off their style and push their limits at *The Spark* (Les Arcs’ snowpark), featuring five progressive routes from XS to XL.
- Beginners are also well cared for, with three progressive zones and gentle green slopes for discovering the joy of gliding for the first time.
Opening dates: December 13, 2025 – April 25, 2026
A Resort Full of Surprises
In winter, Les Arcs transforms into a true adventure playground for thrill-seekers and explorers alike.
- The must-do activity is the Zipline at Arc 2000, delivering an adrenaline rush solo or in tandem, flying over 1.8 km at speeds exceeding 130 km/h.
- The Illuminated Murals at Arc 2000, a sound and light show at 2,700 meters of altitude. By day, the 500 m² Varet gondola garage turns into a light theatre, with an immersive show celebrating the four seasons.
- At Arc 1800 a 900-meter toboggan run with a glowing tunnel delights families, while the 3 km run at Arc 2000 thrills the more daring.
- A playground like no other: The Giants of Malgovert. Hidden in the forest of Arc 1600, three seven-meter-tall wooden sculptures invite adventurers to climb and explore inside and out, up, down, left, and right.
- On a snowshoe hike, don’t be surprised to cross paths with hares, chamois, or black grouse — a must-do activity for a total digital detox.
- For a fun challenge with family or friends, try laser rifle shooting at Arc 1800.
The Funicular – Easy and Eco-Friendly
Les Arcs puts ‘sustainable mobility’ at the heart of its environmental commitment. The international Bourg-Saint-Maurice train station, easily accessible from major European capitals like London, Amsterdam, and Brussels, is the perfect eco-friendly gateway to the resort.
Since 1989, the 100% electric funicular railway has linked Bourg-Saint-Maurice to Arc 1600 in just 7 minutes — a convenient, green alternative to driving. In winter, train passengers can ride the funicular for free.
Once in the resort, free shuttle buses connect the various areas, making it easy to get around while protecting the mountain environment.
