FIS & BONSKI Outline Plans To Introduce One Million Children In China To Snow Sports

FIS has joined forces with Bonski—China’s largest developer of indoor ski facilities—to sign a landmark Memoranda of Understanding that will aim to bring snow sports to one million children across the country.

This strategic partnership aims to inspire a new generation of young skiers and snowboarders across China. Eleven state-of-the-art Bonski venues will participate in the FIS World Snow Week promotional activities, held multiple times through the year, to offer children year-round access to engaging snow experiences.

“Both parties’ goal is to deliver the joy of snow sports to Chinese children and families through diverse programs,” said Bonski’s Vice President, Mr Yi Li.

The notion was echoed by FIS Director for Development, Dimitrije Lazarovski, who adds: “The aim is to continuously promote snow and FIS disciplines across the country, setting new steps forward. Bonski have a unique infrastructure that will allow snow sports to prosper in mainland China.”

With a shared vision of expanding global visibility, strengthening brand presence, and cultivating a dynamic pipeline of new snow sports enthusiasts, the organizations plan to launch a comprehensive joint campaign by the end of the year.

The initiative will drive family engagement, promote grassroots participation, and provide inclusive, eco-friendly pathways for children to discover skiing and snowboarding.

As the operator of 11 indoor snow centers, and three more set to open soon, Bonski is the ideal partner to accelerate FIS’s long-term development strategy in China and the wider Asian region.

Through this partnership, their venues will be accessible to all FIS members, offering year-round training opportunities and hosting a variety of competitions. This includes staging the first-ever Indoor Asian Ski Championships next spring.

Such a significant collaboration between these organizations marks a transformative step toward expanding the reach of snow sports in one of the world’s most dynamic markets.

By combining Bonski’s cutting-edge indoor infrastructure with FIS’s global expertise, the partnership will create year-round pathways for children and families to engage in skiing and snowboarding.

Together, they are building a sustainable foundation that will not only inspire one million young newcomers in China but also elevate the future of snow sports across Asia and beyond.
