Les 2 Alpes Opened On Saturday 29 November And Will Be Welcoming Skiers Until 5 July 2026!

Les 2 Alpes opened on Saturday 29 November and is welcoming skiers until 5 July 2026! 11,000 skiers came for the opening weekend and were able to enjoy excellent snow condition from 3,400m to 1,800m.

Soon the full ski area, between 3,600m and 1,300m, will open. Until Sunday 3 May 2026, skiers and boarders can discover 220km of slopes, with 75% above 2,000m.

Les 2 Alpes is one of the only resorts where skiing doesn’t stop at the end of the winter. The high-altitude area between 3,400m and 2,600m stay open until 31 May. Skiers and boarders can enjoy spring snow and long sunny days.

Then from 1st June to 5 July, the glacier area is open for ski and snowboard club training.

From April, mountain bikers and trailers start coming as well, and have their own events in April – after a winter packed with a large variety of events.

  • 1 to 12 December: 20th Avalanche Dog Handler Training.For the 20th consecutive year, the National Association for the Study of Snow and Avalanches (A.N.E.N.A) invites mountain professionals to join them on the summits of Les 2 Alpes. Twenty pairs (handler + dog) will come to Les 2 Alpes to prepare for the government-recognised National Avalanche Dog Handling certificate 
  • 6 to 13 December: 11th Rise Festival.Run by British organisers (Ibiza Rocks, Wasteland Ski and Rough Hill), this festival combines a week of snowsports and mountain activities with 100% «British» concerts throughout the resort (Les 2 Alpes main square, Palais des sports, slopeside bars, resort bars …). 
  • Christmas, New Year’s Eve and February half term celebrations Les 2 Alpes celebrates the Christmas holidays and the winter holidays with some fireworks, ski shows, and a magical street show called Magic Avenue. 
  • 17th January: Les Lumières de la Muzelle – Trail running event Trail running event in the snow, at night! Participants experience an unusual, extraordinary evening, racing above the resort of Les 2 Alpes at night, and taking in stunning views! Runners choose between 11, 16, 21 et 42 km. All runners start at 2,100m, in the Vallée Blanche area. Last year 1,400m runners took part, including the local champions Mathieu Blanchard and Yannick Noël. www.leslumieresdelamuzelle.com
  • NEW - 11 April: Derby des 2 Alpes.The fastest skier from the top to the bottom of the resort will win! The organiser expect 300 participants. 
  • 11-12 April: Black Garden Party – MTB event. The Black Garden party launches the start of the mountain biking seasons! Downhill mountain biking enthusiast can ride the legendary red run from Les 2 Alpes to the the village of Venosc, as well as the new black run, the Black Garden, also between Les 2 Alpes and Venosc. The event is organised in partnership with the Commencal team, the bike patrol of Les 2 Alpes and the champion (and ambassador for Les 2 Alpes) Adrien Loron.
  • 19 April: Beef Roast Rail Jam.Friendly freestyle contest between British and French riders
  • 18 April: The Venosc Climbs Challenge (trail). On Sunday 19 April 2026, the Les 2 Alpes Trail association invites trail enthusiasts to take on the “Montées de Venosc” challenge. The idea is to accumulate as much elevation gain as possible during the day by repeating the climb up the Venosc trail (3 km – 660 m elevation gain) between 7.30 am and 7.30pm This friendly, non-timed event is open to everyone and is not competitive. The descents are ideally made by cable car to preserve the participants' energy. In 2025, there were 185 participants, who made 1,090 ascents, climbed 719,400m of elevation gain and set 1 record: 14 times in 12 hours! 
  • 24-26 April: 8th Micro Kids.  A snowboard competition for children aged between 5 and 11 years old.

The resort offers excellent value for money, with a large range of accommodation options, from family-run hotels to self-catering apartments and hostels. With a large choice of restaurants, many activities on offer and events all winter, Les 2 Alpes is a great holiday destination for snowsport enthusiasts.

Les 2 Alpes is easily accessible from the UK. Several airports are close to Les 2 Alpes (Lyon, Grenoble and Chambery), plus it is also very easy to access by train. You can take the Eurostar to Paris or Lille, then the TGV to Grenoble (3 hours from Paris and 4hours 50 from Lille). From Grenoble station, there are several buses per day to Les 2 Alpes.
