Ischgl's New Höllbodenbahn C1 And Sassgalunbahnn C3 Are In Operation.

In the summer of 2025, two new cable cars were built in Ischgl: the Höllbodenbahn C1 and the Sassgalunbahn C3. Following the successful operating permit hearing on November 20, 2025, both lifts went into operation just one week later – on November 27 – and welcomed their first winter sports enthusiasts.

The two modern 8-seater chairlifts offer maximum comfort: they are equipped with heated seats and weather protection hoods. A special detail: the backs of the Höllboden chairlift feature the stars of the famous Top of the Mountain concerts, while the Sassgalun chairlift displays motifs of the Silvretta Therme spa.

The Sassgalunbahn also holds a world record: It is the shortest 8-seater chairlift with heated seats and a hood in the world.

The route of the new Höllboden cable car is also impressive. It crosses the two 8-seater chairlifts Idjoch and Flimjoch. Theoretically, up to 7,400 people per hour could be transported via the 27-meter-high "Höllboden–Flimjoch" crossing tower.

Both lifts – the Höllboden C1 and the Sassgalun C3 – are equipped with Doppelmayr's intelligent AURO system. Multiple cameras and sensors continuously provide data that is analyzed in real time by an AI-supported system. If necessary, the lift is automatically slowed down or stopped – a significant contribution to even greater safety.

And the modernization continues: In the summer of 2026, the next major project is already scheduled – the construction of the new Höllkarbahn C2 cable car.
