Schladming-Dachstein Open Again

After the new lockdown, the Austrian adventure region Schladming-Dachstein starts the winter season. The rental and catering businesses are well prepared and are looking forward to finally welcoming winter guests. The Planai opened its first ski slopes as early as mid-November, and the Reiteralm and Hauser Kaibling as well as all other ski mountains in the region started operations. In the cross-country Eldorado of Ramsau am Dachstein, almost all cross-country trails have already been groomed, and the pre-sale of season tickets will run until December 21st.

  • Many new offers for winter sports enthusiasts in the large Austrian adventure region
  • Ski slopes and cross-country skiing trails are already open, rental and catering establishments will open on December 17th
  • All information - also on the currently applicable Corona measures - is available online at www.schladming-dachstein.at .

"We are well prepared for the reopening in tourism on December 17th," says Mathias Schattleitner, Managing Director of Schladming-Dachstein Tourismusmarketing GmbH. “Our restaurants and accommodations are working hard to ensure a stress-free and carefree vacation with well thought-out security concepts. The booking situation for Christmas looks good at the moment, but we are of course still a long way from achieving record values. The off-season times get exciting - here we notice that guests want to book more and more at short notice. The Schladming-Dachstein region offers more planning security through free cancellation up to a few days before arrival as part of the well-known “worry-free booking” campaign.

Planai: More comfort with the modern 8-seater Lärchkogelbahn

The Planai-Hochwurzen-Bahnen invested again in the modernization of their ski area with the construction of the 8-seater chairlift Lärchkogel in the summer of the previous year. The Lärchkogelbahn scores in particular with its innovative design and, with its premium armchairs, ensures a comfortable ride on wonderfully wide slopes. With a transport capacity of 3,500 ski guests per hour, it is also the most powerful lift in Styria.

50 years of the Reiteralm: New 6-seater chairlift, early start and wider carving slope

The Reiteralm celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. On the popular training mountain of the international ski world cup elite, on which the first lift went into operation on December 21, 1972, the offer has been expanded again: With the Schoberbahn, a new 6-seater chairlift has been in operation since last winter. It replaces and extends the Reiteralm III tow lift. Due to the construction and the associated slope widening, completely new carving opportunities are now available on the Reiteralm. Also this winter there is the "early start on the weekend": the first ascent to the freshly groomed slopes is possible from 7.45 am

Hauser Kaibling: “Wollis Kids Park” for all ski and snowboard beginners

On the Hauser Kaibling, right at the valley station of the 8-seater gondola, the new “Wollis Kids Park” awaits all skiers and snowboarders. A pommel lift, three magic carpets and slopes suitable for beginners serve as the perfect preparation for your skiing or boarding pleasure in the Schladming 4-mountain ski area. Games and fun elements in the park ensure a lot of variety.

There is also news on the Planneralm and Riesneralm

From the first Austrian children's ski swing to a permanent race track and four valley enjoyment runs, the Riesneralm is a hit for every level of ability. New panorama boards ensure even better orientation this year, and a real “eye-catcher” is the new “Riesneralm Keycard PURE” - a premium ticket made of wood with a unique feel and grain. Guaranteed plastic-free, this ticket can be used for all day tickets or season tickets.
