Austrian Ecolabel For Sixth Hotel In Kufsteinerland

The traditional Hotel Andreas Hofer**** in the fortress town of Kufstein has been awarded the Austrian Ecolabel. This brings the total number of accommodations in the Kufsteinerland region to six to bear one of the most important sustainability labels in tourism.
During a ceremony, hotelier Thomas Sappl, together with his partner Sabine Gwirl and daughter Christina Sappl, received the Austrian Ecolabel for their traditional hotel.
The Austrian Ecolabel – awarded by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Climate Protection, Environmental Protection, Regions and Water Management – recognizes the Hotel Andreas Hofer's sustainable commitment to environmental protection, resource conservation, and regionality. The seal of approval was presented Wednesday evening by Federal Minister Norbert Totschnig . The hotel also received the EU Ecolabel. The EU Flower has been the European ecolabel recognized by all member states since 1992.
TVB Chairman Georg Hörhager and TVB Managing Director Sabine Mair also congratulated and emphasized the great importance of the Sappl family's commitment to sustainable tourism.

The traditional city hotel in the heart of Kufstein has added an important chapter to its 70-year history," said TVB Chairman Georg Hörhager and Managing Director Sabine Mair in unison.
The Hotel Andreas Hofer**** is the sixth hotel in the Kufsteinerland region to receive the Austrian Ecolabel for Hotels. Previously awarded hotels include: Bio Chalet Haus Wagner, Juffing Hotel & Spa****, Hotel Stadt Kufstein****, Hotel Thierseerhof****, and Sattlerwirt Hotel – Wirtshaus Seminar****.
