24th Edition Of The Annual Italian Quality Of Life Survey Sees Trento At Top Of Rankings In 2022

Trento, the capital city of the Trentino region, has been crowned as the best city to live in Italy according to the 24th edition of the annual survey of Italian Quality of Life conducted by the ItaliaOggi newspaper and La Sapienza University of Rome.

Trento achieved its top place due to coming on top spots in eight out of nine sectors considered. The report measures Italian cities’ quality of life by considering indicators such as public services, health and the environment, demographics, leisure time, law and order, the standard of living and business and employment.

Trento knocked Parma off the first position from last year and into seventh place in 2022.

What to do:

Trento boasts magnificent views of the snow-capped mountains and a great variety of monuments, ancient castles and culinary delights which are simply waiting to be discovered. It is a safe and perfectly sized city, rich in heritage, buzzing bars and restaurants and the perfect place to breathe and unwind after a busy summer, with a glass of sparkling Trentodoc in hand.

The fascinating inner city, restored over the last several years, is brimming with ancient sites, including Roman remains, a beautiful main square dotted with cafes, the famous Buonconsiglio Castle, Palazzo Pretorio, Neptune’s Fountain, as well as churches such as Santa Maria Maggiore and the San Vigilio Cathedral.

For skiers the slopes may be red, blue and black, but the dominant colour is always white. Snow reigns supreme at Dolomiti Superski, one of the world’s great destinations with a full 1,200 km of runs and slopes at altitudes from 800 to 3,269 metres.

Offering everything from alpine skiing to snow parks, Dolomiti Superski encompasses the eastern part of Trentino, with ski areas from Fiemme (Obereggen) and San Martino di Castrozza (Rolle Pass) to the Val di Fassa (Carezza) and Alpe Lusia (San Pellegrino).

15 ski areas, 450 ski lifts, 1,200 km of slopes – all on a single ski pass. That’s why Dolomiti Superski is Italy’s biggest ski destination.

Then there's Skirama Dolimiti where a single skipass gives you access to 380 km of slopes, making Skirama Dolomiti one of the biggest ski parks south of the Alps.

From the peaks of Folgarida Marilleva, Pejo and Pontedilegno-Tonale in Val di Sole and Lombardy, to the Dolomites of Madonna di Campiglio and Pinzolo in Val Rendena, and from the slopes of Andalo and Fai della Paganella to Monte Bondone overlooking Trento and even as far away as Alpe Cimbra, at Folgaria and Lavarone.

1 Skipass, 8 Resorts, 150 ski lifts and 380 km of slopes stretching throughout the natural landscape of western Trentino: these are the numbers that encapsulate the story of Skirama Dolomiti.
