US Ski Jumping Weekend Recap: Klingenthal, Germany

Athletes closed out the summer season with a strong showing at the Summer Grand Prix Finale in Klingenthal, Germany.

All five U.S. men — Tate Frantz, Jason Colby, Kevin Bickner, Erik Belshaw, and Andrew Urlaub — qualified for the individual competition. Frantz led the way in qualification with an impressive eighth-place finish and went on to take 15th in the individual event. Colby followed in 29th in the individual.

On the women’s side, Annika Belshaw and Josie Johnson both qualified for the individual competition. Belshaw placed 26th in the competition.

Josie Johnson, Annika Belshaw, Jason Colby, and Tate Frantz represented the U.S. in the mixed team event, advancing to the second round and finishing the day in eighth place.

The weekend marked a strong finish to the summer season as the team builds momentum heading into winter. Next up is the World Cup season opener in Lillehammer, Norway, November 20–23.
