Timpson Family Re-Opens Morzine's Historic Hotel Le Tremplin After Extensive Refurbishment

In 2022 the Timpson family purchased Hotel Le Tremplin, an iconic Morzine venue at the foot of the Pleney slopes in the centre of the
village. Opened in 1936, Le Tremplin has always been a family-owned hotel. Having enjoyed several family holidays in Morzine over the years, Roìsìn and James Timpson decided to continue the Tremplin journey with their own family, bringing the hotel into their Flock Inns hospitality business.
After nearly two years of work, Le Tremplin — the bar, restaurant, and hotel that sits at the foot of the Pleney slopes — has reopened its doors, returning an iconic après‑ski and community gathering place to Morzine’s centre stage. The relaunch is the first visible phase of a wider transformation that the Timpson family and their Flock Inns group have overseen, aimed at preserving the site’s heritage while upgrading its facilities for contemporary guests.
The refurbishment, described by the hotel as a two‑year renovation, reimagines public spaces and guest accommodation with a focus on warm alpine materials, expanded terraces, and a redesigned two‑level restaurant and duplex lounge bar that will host daily après‑ski events and live music. New suites and hotel rooms are being phased in, with several larger suites slated to be available from summer 2026 as part of the property’s staged reopening.
The Timpson family — better known in the UK for their retail and hospitality portfolio — took stewardship of Le Tremplin in recent years and have framed the project as both an investment in Morzine’s tourism offer and a commitment to local culture. Their hospitality arm emphasises community‑minded service and local sourcing, a philosophy the owners say will guide Le Tremplin’s food and events programming going forwardTimpson Group.
The hotel’s bar, restaurant and terrace open in December 2025, in time for the Winter 25/26 season. Summer 26 sees the launch of thirteen self-contained holiday suites, ranging in size from two to five bedroom. In total, the hotel has the capacity to sleep 60 people.
Upon reopening, Hotel Le Tremplin will operate throughout the year, supporting Morzine’s drive towards four seasons tourism, encouraging visits to the mountains during the quieter periods. The hotel will host retreats, workshops and activity breaks.
Hotel Le Tremplin’s famous apres-ski parties continue on a newly expanded terrace at the bottom of the piste. Top live acts and DJs from across the Alps will entertain the crowds each afternoon during the winter season.
Chef Mehdi Said joins the hotel, introducing a menu that’s packed with classic mountain dishes, fresh flavours, local ingredients and interesting twists. Both lunch and dinner will be available to residents and non-residents.
The hotel’s new bar will be open throughout and features custom artwork by the King’s Coronation artist Gideon Summerfield and official Wimbledon artist George Fox.
To align with the ethos of the wider Timpson business, colleagues at Hotel Le Tremplin will work in a culture of kindness, with great service offered by great people.
Morzine is one of the most popular mountain resorts in the French Alps, especially amongst British skiers. They enjoy the authentic Savoyarde atmosphere, village charm and access to the 650km of pistes in the Portes du Soleil
Community voices and regional outlets have framed the project as a heritage‑sensitive revival: while the interiors and service offering have been modernised, the owners have emphasised that Le Tremplin will remain “true to its spirit,” hosting family‑friendly events, live concerts, and après‑ski gatherings that have defined the venue for generations. The Timpson family’s acquisition and subsequent investment were first reported in 2022, and local stakeholders say the reopening will help sustain Morzine’s year‑round visitor economy
