Odlo Has New Owners - Monte Rosa Sports Holding

Odlo International has changed hands. The new owner is Monte Rosa Sports Holding AG, which acquired the functional underwear specialist from the Herkules Fund III. This fund is managed by the Norwegian financial investor Herkules Capital AS. No information was given about the purchase price.

The Swiss investment company Monte Rosa Sports Holding has Odlo International together with the national subsidiaries. Monte Rosa According to Odlo, the company is owned by the two entrepreneurs Hugo Maurstad and Christian Casal.

Norwegian-born Maurstad has a long track record in the sports sector and has led a number of investments in the sports and leisure industry, including the Rossignol Group (Rossignol, Dynastar, Lange, Look), Helly Hansen, Navico (Simrad, B&G, Lowrance), SATS, XXL Sport Retail and Dale of Norway. The Swiss Casal comes from a management consultancy and was formerly head of McKinsey Switzerland.

"We see many similarities between the investments at Helly Hansen, Rossignol and Odlo International," Hugo Maurstad explained in a press release. "The company has a fantastic starting position. Odlo is a globally recognised brand and has a strong position in its core markets and segments". He also gave details of future plans. "We are convinced that the company's return to its roots will sustainably strengthen Odlo's position as the leading outdoor baselayer brand in Europe."

The change has not yet had any impact on the current management of Odlo International. CEO Knut Are Høgberg has been leading the company since 2018 and will continue his activities. Høgberg: "We are proud to see that even in the current difficult business environment the strong dynamics of the Odlo brand is appreciated by our new owners". Odlo International has been headquartered in Hünenberg, Switzerland, since 1986 and employs around 800 people worldwide.
