Nancy Marshall Communications To Represent The World Pro Ski Tour For Second Consecutive Year

Nancy Marshall Communications has been selected as the PR agency of record for the World Pro Ski Tour again this year. The event will feature Olympic, World Cup, and NCAA-level competitors.

Nancy Marshall, CEO and founder of NMC, said, "It's an honor and a privilege to work with the tour for the second year in a row. It's nostalgic for me personally since I used to be involved in this event when I was on the marketing staff at Sugarloaf in the '80s."

Nancy Marshall of Nancy Marshall Communications will be working with her son Craig Marshall to promote the World Pro Ski Tour for the second year in a row.

The World Pro Ski Tour is a dual slalom event, with two racers competing head-to-head on a shorter course, unlike World Cup racing where individual skiers compete against a clock. This makes for more exciting, easier to follow ski races. The format of the event allows for plenty of social opportunities for fans to meet and mingle with the racers on the slopes and in the lodge before, during and after each day's race.

The tour had been dormant for more than 20 years until it was revived in 2016 by Ed Rogers of Bath, the director of the original World Pro Ski Tour, and Marshall's son, Craig Marshall of Portland, a former NCAA Division 1 level ski racer.

Rogers said, "Nancy Marshall Communications' expertise in the tourism industry is well established and Nancy's connections in the ski world are second to none. She and her team did an exceptional job connecting our event in 2017 with key journalists to promote the Sunday River race. We're thrilled to partner with NMC again this season."

There will be three tour events in February and March: one at Waterville Valley Resort in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire, February 8 through 10; a second event at Sunday River Ski Resort in Newry, Maine, March 29 through 31, and a third to be held at a location and date to be determined. All events will be aired on CBS Sports Network.

Marshall and her team will work to generate regional, national and international media coverage of the events.

Now celebrating its 27th year in business, Nancy Marshall Communications provides award-winning marketing and public relations services for local, national and international businesses and organizations. With offices in Augusta and Portland, Maine, the agency specializes in the tourism, outdoor recreation, education, health care, and service industries. The agency was awarded the Maine Public Relations Council's top honor, Best in Show, at the council's 2017 and 2016 Golden Arrow Awards ceremonies.
