Mt. Hood Meadows 2021 - 22 Season Passes Selling At Unprecedented Levels

With three weeks left to the May 31 deadline, Mt. Hood Meadows has surpassed the number of season passes sold in any previous season through the deadline. VP of Sales and Marketing Dave Tragethon describes this as “historic”, saying, “We are selling passes at an unheard-of rate - nearly triple any other season. Traditionally, we don’t see this pace of sales until the last few days before the May 31 deadline, but sales have been incredibly strong since next year’s passes went on sale April 1.”

Last season Meadows cut off sales of the All Access passes in October, and stopped all pass sales in November, except for the Nordic pass. The resort announced last month that 21/22 All Access upgrades may be limited and plans to manage the number of passes sold through dynamic pricing and eventual cutting off sales. "We learned a lot this season that just ended, when COVID physical distancing required us to manage and reduce peak day visitation," says VP of Resort Operations Jeremy Riss. "We are taking what we learned and applying it to our ticket and pass sales for next season. Keep in mind, at this time we don't know what guidelines or restrictions we will be operating under next season, so we would rather let everyone know up front that we may need to limit passes," warns Riss.

General Manager Greg Pack believes the demand for next year’s passes are high because, “A lot of people weren’t able to purchase a season pass last year. Now we have two years of pent up demand for the pass, and enthusiasts are purchasing now to avoid being left out next season. As we stated in our April 1 release, if having access on peak days (weekends and holidays) is important to you, you should purchase sooner rather than later.”

Meadows Value Pass and All Access upgrade are available online. Those who had passes last season can renew, and those who have had a pass for the last two seasons get an additional loyalty discount. The Value Pass provides every day access, but not until 2 PM on peak days. All other days access begins when lifts open.

The All Access upgrade provides every day access all hours that lifts operate, even on those peak days. It also provides passholders with free days at five other ski areas, which has added to its popularity. All Access upgrade is expected to be limited for next season, as a way to better manage the peak day experience for all guests.
