Mt Buller Receives Best Continuous Improvement Award
Buller Ski Lifts is proud to be acknowledged with the Best Continuous Improvement award at the 17th RM Advancer Awards, hosted by Vero Insurance and GIO Workers Compensation. This annual program honours organisations dedicated to strengthening risk controls over time. The award highlights businesses that continually refine their risk management approach in pursuit of best in class performance.
Operating Victoria’s largest lift network, Buller Ski Lifts earned this recognition through sustained investment in comprehensive risk strategies that support safe operations in complex alpine environment. This includes managing co existing natural hazards such as bushfires, snow and terrain, as well as the year round safety of guests and employees.
Through a combination of technology upgrades, rigorous safety systems and a strong culture of continuous improvements, BSL has achieved a 10% reduction in injuries per skier day and recorded zero on-snow fatalities for over 12 years.

Vero’s Executive General Manager Commercial, David Hoffmann, said the quality of nominations was consistently high this year.
“We saw record numbers of nominations this year, showing overwhelming enthusiasm from brokers to highlight how their clients have excelled in risk management across every aspect of their organisation,” Mr Hoffmann said.
“Among the entries we saw significant advancements in how businesses use technology for risk management, including the use of AI-powered bushfire camera networks, and drone-based inspections of infrastructure and assets. The introduction of the new category rewarding organisations that have gradually strengthened their risk frameworks over time, saw some outstanding entries, underscoring the importance of committing to continual improvement. The variety of entries we saw reinforced the importance of long-term risk management, with businesses proactively addressing risks through consistent, informed, decision-making.”
