The previous managing director of Innsbruck Tourismus, Karin Seiler, is the first in line after yesterday's hearing on the appointment of the new management of Tirol Tourist Board. With the native Tyrolean, from May 1, 2022, for the first time a woman will head the state tourism organization.
For Tyrol's governor Günther Platter, the appointment, which is now being made byLebensraum Tirol Holding, is clear: "After the great challenges for the Tyrolean tourism industry, a strong leader who guarantees continuity and stability is needed at the top of Tirol Tourist Board." With Karin Seiler was able to gain a proven tourism and communications expert with international experience as part of a decision-making process that was both professional and quickly organized.
For Josef Margreiter, Managing Director ofLebensraum Tirol Holding, the appointment has also been a success: “The Tyrolean tourism industry and with it the Tirol Tourist Board have been successful for many decades due to their dynamism. In the current turbulent and stressful times, it was important to fill the central management position in our group of companies as quickly as possible. We succeeded and we are grateful that the change can already take place in May.”
Mario Gerber, in his position as chairman of Innsbruck Tourismus, also agrees with the rapid change: “The appointment to the top of Tirol Tourist Board is primarily due to the excellent work that Karin Seiler has done as managing director of Innsbruck Tourismus. With implementation-oriented creativity, structured thinking and proven ability to work in a team, she has built a powerful organization. We will react quickly to the new situation and will shortly start the call for vacancies for the management in Innsbruck.”
The new head of Tirol Tourist Board, who was able to assert herself against around 30 applicants, had already worked for the company as marketing manager between 2012 and 2015. "I consider it a privilege to be able to assume responsibility for Tirol Tourist Board in cooperation with many trusted colleagues in the company but also in all of Tyrol's tourism, especially in these very challenging times," emphasizes Karin Seiler.
The 50-year-old Tyrolean can already look back on a successful career. In leading marketing positions at Henkel Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Australia, Seiler worked abroad until 2010 before she took over the management of the Pitztal Tourist Association and later the marketing department of Tirol Tourist Board. Most recently, Seiler was managing director of Innsbruck Tourismus for six years and during this period successfully converted the tourism association into a modern service company.
