  • Take a balloon flight this winter in Kaiserwinkl in the Austrian Tirol. A hot air balloon ride in the Kaiserwinkl region of the Austrian Tirol offers breathtaking views of the Kaiser Mountains and the neighbouring Bavarian Alps in both summer and winter, creating a peaceful and unforgettable alpine experience. Winter is considered the best season for ballooning, as the clear air and greater temperature difference between the balloon and the surrounding atmosphere allow for smoother and more efficient ascents, while traveling at wind speed ensures a calm and windless sensation. Balloon rides are available from €340 / £297 pp for approximately 70 minutes, with an extended alpine balloon experience lasting around 90 minutes. A seven night stay at Das Walchsee Resort, arriving 7 March 2026 is priced from £588 pp based on two sharing a double room with breakfast included.
