Carinthian Advertising boss Christian Kresse, Chamber of Commerce division chairman Josef Petritsch and Christopher Gruber, managing director of the Nassfeld I Lesachtal I Weissensee region on behalf of the Carinthian tourism regions, presented the package of measures today, Wednesday, during a press conference in Klagenfurt.
Low infection numbers as the top priority
Tourism Councilor Sebastian Schusching: “The winter is of enormous economic importance for the entire industry. Almost a third of all overnight stays are counted in winter. Low infection rates are therefore not only a top priority for health policy reasons, but are also a prerequisite for tourism to experience a winter season at all this year. I therefore appeal to everyone to adhere to the tightened security measures. Only if the infection rate is stable can existence-threatening travel warnings and other negative economic effects be prevented. The more people contribute, the better we can get through this crisis ”.

Josef Petritsch: “There is no doubt that winter presents us with even greater challenges than was the case in summer. The Carinthian tourism industry has already shown in the last few months that we can offer our guests a safe and relaxed holiday. It is now a matter of continuing on this responsible path and working together to ensure that the number of infections remains at the comparatively low level or that it continues to decline ”. 3.5 million euro advertising offensive
With a campaign budget of 3.5 million euros, the winter advertising offensive is on schedule in the local markets of Austria and Germany, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Croatia and Italy. “In addition to online and print campaigns, activities focus on 350 TV spots and 800 radio spots. Depending on the market development and general conditions, we will start the first inspiration campaigns at the end of October. Focus on security and new guest potential
“The focus of guest interest is on the topics of safety and preventive measures. In the entire market communication, we therefore focus on the extensive measures of all industry segments. The recovery program that was successfully implemented in the summer will be adapted for the winter, ”says Kresse. When it comes to vacation topics, the ski vacation continues to come first. “Completely new opportunities are opening up this year due to the huge potential of 166 million people who have so far opted for a Sun & Beach holiday, a cruise or a cultural and city holiday in winter.
