Brundage Mountain Celebrates 65th Season By Honoring Past, Present & Future

Brundage Mountain Resort is kicking off its 65th season this winter with celebrations that honor its rich history while showcasing the transformative improvements shaping its future.

Since first opening in November 1961, Brundage Mountain Resort has become a beloved, independently owned destination known for “The Best Snow in Idaho.” The 1,920 acre ski resort is marking this milestone 65th season with special events, guest traditions, and progress on its comprehensive 10-Year Improvement Plan.

Celebrating 65 Years of The Best Snow in IdahoTM

To mark its anniversary, Brundage is hosting a season-long series of celebrations and savings events:

Brundage65_logo_gold-01.pngPreseason 4PAK Sale: Brundage Mountain Resort will launch its annual 4PAK Sale on Nov. 1, offering four days of full day, all mountain lift access for $260, or $65 each — a nod to the resort’s 65th season. This year, 4PAKs will be loaded directly to the purchaser’s online account, allowing guests to head straight to the chairlift without visiting the ticket window. Quantities are limited.

“Our 4PAK Sale has always been one of the best ways for guests to experience the mountain at a great value,” said Brundage Mountain General Manager Ken Rider. “It’s a simple, flexible option that celebrates our 65-year tradition of making skiing accessible and fun for everyone.”

Pray for Snow Party: Brundage Mountain will host its annual Pray for Snow Party on Friday, Nov. 8. The free community celebration will feature live music, food, drinks and prize giveaways to help the local ski and snowboard community welcome winter in style. The event will be held in downtown McCall’s Depot Park and will include a screening of Teton Gravity Research’s latest film, Pressure Drop.

$65 Tuesday Tickets & Weekday Savings: Brundage is known for its uncrowded slopes and sparse midweek crowds. This winter, the resort is celebrating midweek skiers and riders with special deals on online lift tickets. Those who plan ahead can snag a Tuesday lift ticket for just $65 (44% off), with other weekday tickets available for as little as $70. Quantities are limited each day, so advance purchases are recommended.

Brundage will be hosting a number of other on-mountain events to celebrate its 65th season and proud heritage as a locally grown, independently owned resort. Guests will also be invited to share their “Brundage memories” through social media to be featured in the 65th Anniversary Countdown. #Brundage65

“As we celebrate 65 years of deep snow and lasting memories, we’re also building for the future with projects that will keep Brundage authentic, sustainable, and welcoming for generations to come,” said Rider.

New for Winter 2025/26

Emergency Services & Public Safety

This winter, Brundage Mountain is enhancing on-mountain emergency response with a new 1,800-square-foot Emergency Services building. The facility will house the resort’s ambulance and fire engine, which were added in 2024 to support the independently operated Brundage Mountain Fire Protection Agency (BMFPA) and Brundage Mountain Emergency Medical Service (BMEMS).

These services were created to provide timely medical and fire response on the mountain and to ease demand on local first responders who already serve a broad rural region.

“Safety is one of our core responsibilities as a mountain community,” said Rider. “These resources allow us to respond faster and support our guests and staff while reducing the strain on regional emergency systems.”

Slope Stewardship & Readiness

Brundage continues its yearly slope mowing program to improve surface conditions and allow terrain to open safely with less early-season snow. This season’s work included Main Street, the Face, Alpine, Engen, Skid Row, 45th Parallel, Temptation, Sensation, Celebration, Stump, Race Course, Bear, Griz, Jammer, Red Fox and Badger.

The Mountain Operations team also removed more than 500 dead hazard trees across the mountain, improving forest health and wildfire resilience.

Current Projects Underway

Construction is progressing at Norhaven, Brundage Mountain’s second slopeside neighborhood, with site work and foundations now underway. Located beside the Lower Rodeo run, Norhaven will feature a collection of residences, twin-gable duplexes, and mountain flats — each offering true ski-in/ski-out access.

Norhaven was designed with a focus on thoughtful architecture, environmental stewardship, and community integration — key principles that guide Brundage Mountain’s innovative 10-Year Improvement Plan.

Looking ahead, design work is underway for a new Day Lodge which would complement the Mountain Adventure Center (MAC) and create highly functional space for food & beverage operations.

$35 Million Invested Since 2021

Since a new Idaho-based ownership group took the helm in 2020, Brundage Mountain has invested more than $35 million in a broad range of projects designed to improve the guest experience and ensure long-term sustainability.

“Every improvement we’ve made has been about preserving what makes Brundage unique while creating new opportunities for the next generation of skiers and riders,” said Brundage Mountain general manager, Ken Rider.

Key projects completed since 2021 include:

  • Centennial Express High-Speed Quad: Debuted winter 2023–24, offering smoother, faster access to the resort’s south side.
  • Mountain Adventure Center (MAC): Opened winter 2024–25, providing an 18,000 square foot base hub for rentals, retail, guest services and the Mountain Sports School.
  • Ski Patrol & Admin Building: A 2,800-square-foot building supporting safety and operations with a state-of-the art first aid room.

  • Fresh Water Infrastructure: A new 435,000-gallon water tank and upgraded infrastructure will supply fresh water to all base area buildings and support improved fire protection for both current facilities and those planned for the future.
  • Employee Housing: Purchase and restoration of a historic New Meadows schoolhouse into comfortable and convenient employee housing.
  • Community Giving Program: Launch of the Brundage Mountain Community Fund, which channels resources directly to local nonprofits, the BMCF made an immediate impact with its first $10,000 grant to the Mehen Memorial Skate Park in New Meadows.

Brundage Mountain Resort is steeped in Idaho history and offers a charming, accessible local vibe. Brundage has been providing a high-value, family-friendly skiing experience for more than 60 years.
