Bogus Basin Closes the Season with Summer Activities, National Public Lands Day

Bogus Basin announced plans today for its final weekend of the 2025 summer season. On Saturday, the mountain will host a variety of vendor activities, volunteer opportunities, expert panels, and more to celebrate National Public Lands Day.

All summer activities and The Basin Gravity Park are open Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm. Area officials encourage guests purchase their activity tickets online in advance.

The United States is home to more than 640 million acres of public lands — including 34.5 million acres in Idaho. Bogus Basin operates on over 2,904 acres of Boise National Forest land under a special use permit with the U.S. Forest Service.

“We are grateful for our strong partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, which allows us to steward over 2,900 acres of public land responsibly. Together, we work to promote a healthy mountain environment, expand terrain responsibly, mitigate fire risks, and ensure this cherished recreation area thrives for another 83 years.” said Cissy Madigan, Community Impact Manager

National Public Lands Day is the largest single-day volunteer effort in the United States each year, with over 41,500 hours of volunteer service dedicated in 2024. To celebrate, the Bogus Basin team invites the Treasure Valley to the mountain on Saturday, September 27th, for a day filled with hands-on volunteer opportunities, activities hosted by more than 20 local vendors, expert panels, and more fun ways to connect with the community.

“We are excited to invite both familiar faces and first-time summer visitors to Bogus Basin to celebrate National Public Lands Day with engaging activities, hands-on learning, and a deeper appreciation for the mountain and our shared public lands.”added Nate Collins, Stewardship & Sustainability Coordinator

Booth activities include Tree Ring Stamping with the Bogus Basin Environmental Education team, crosscut sawing with the Idaho Trails Association, coffee sampling with Lonely Larch Supply Co, and more.
