5th FIS Snowsports Community Workshop Held

The fifth Snowsports Community Workshop was held virtually with more than 30 officials representing 13 different National Ski Associations.

The Snowsports community serves Snowsports enthusiasts with products and experiences delivered with a 360 approach across every physical and digital touchpoint -engaging and building direct relationship people engaged in snowsports.

In March 2021, FIS conducted its largest fan survey ever to gain insights about the Snowsports Community, their attitudes, behaviours and desires. A total of 4’053 people completed the survey.  The workshop focused on sharing the relevant insights into snowsports fans attitudes and behaviours, how best to engage them, and provide actionable recommendations that can be implemented.

There was also a look back at a season like no other where digital initiatives became more important than ever, but also an eye to the future to monitor the scenarios in a post Covid-19 era. Digital initiatives attract a new, younger audience to the sport, provide a great opportunity to capture fan data, as well as engage your existing fans.

The next step on the journey with the Snowsports Community is to ensure win-win situations for each NSA and to make it as easy as possible for them to benefit from each our planned digital initiatives for the season 2021/22:

  • FIS will prepare promotional assets for its digital initiatives to share it with the NSA’s
  • FIS will install the FIS Cloud as sharing platform for all the promotional assets
  • FIS will enhance the promotion of the Snowsports Community with regular updates

The sixth Snowsports Community Workshop will take place in September 2021.
