Trentino Promotes St Valentine’s Day On The Italian Slopes

Trentino is a fantastic place to celebrate this year’s Valentine’s Day and enjoy snow-filled fun that the destination has to offer! See below for more information.

Trentino’s healthy snowfall, coupled with its wide array of outdoor activities makes it a fantastic place to spend Valentine’s Day this year, whether you are celebrating on the slopes with a beloved pal, partner or parent! Achieving 6th place in ‘Best Ski Destinations Worldwide’, it is widely and highly regarded as a great option for snow-filled fun. Elisabetta Gutterer, Trentino Marketing, explains

‘Here in Trentino, the snowy season is in full swing! Five-star quality does not only feature on the slopes and lifts, but also in the many mountain huts. All the ski areas are open and despite the current temperatures, the coverage of snow is guaranteed by great quality artificial snow as well as the new snowfalls due to the lower temperatures expected.

Thanks to modern equipment for artificial snowmaking and the high altitudes of these slopes, snow coverage of 90% is guaranteed for the 380 kilometres of slopes spreading from east to west across Trentino.’

Make the most of all Trentino has to offer with these experiences during the month of love …

Start the day in the best way by seeing the sunrise on the undisrupted, snow-dusted slopes. Make your mark on the mountain by carving the snow after a delicious high-altitude breakfast. Available on Valentine’s Day, Trentino Ski Sunrise is one experience sure to make your day memorable. The experience is priced from €45 for adults, €30 for children between 6 and 12. This includes the ascent from the valley and the use of several lifts opened specifically for the event, guiding services of ski instructors, and a delicious and hearty Italian breakfast in the mountain hut.

Extend your Valentine’s celebrations with ‘Tiramisù Amore’; on 17 February, skiiers can couple up for a nighttime (non-competitive) race, priced from €50 per duo, including a meal at the Palacongressi of Andalo, and equipment. Taking place on the stretch of piste that climbs from Andalo to the Dosson mountain hut, the race is perfect for lovers of ski touring, and of each other! An even-less competitive option is night skiing in Paganella under the stars. The Paganella Ski Area has a fully illuminated 3km track suitable for everyone. This experience is included in the price of a day ski pass.

Those who love the snow but not necessarily the skis can enjoy the silence and sounds of the winter forest by immersing in one of the Valsugana snowshoeing routes, exploring the majestic Lagorai mountain range or walking among the majestic beech trees of Val di Sella. Or try the Garda Trentino Moonlight Adventure priced from €50 per person (excluding snowshoe hire) where participants can climb up to Monte Stivo and be rewarded with a wonderful open view of Lake Garda shimmering in the moonlight. Guiding services and the meal are included in the price.

…for food lovers:

The perfect pairing to a night on the slopes in Paganella is an excellent meal at Rifugio Dosson. Up in the mountains, the restaurant is easily accessible by lift. Or, down in the valley, what could be more romantic than a five-course meal by candlelight in the inn of Castle of Avio, priced from €50 per person, after visiting the wonderfully preserved frescoes of the ‘love chamber’? For a more authentic Italian meal, enjoy a dinner of carne salada and other local delicacies after an afternoon stroll on the shores of Lake Tenno, a turquoise pearl of the lake a few kilometres from Lake Garda.
