The Calendar For The Freeride World Qualifier (Fwq) And Freeride Junior Tour (Fjt) Is Out !

The schedule and venues for the world’s top young and aspiring freeriders became official today. More than 3000 FJT riders and 2000 FWQ athletes hoping to earn their spot on the FWT, will compete in a total of 170 events across two global regions: Europe/Oceania and the Americas.

The FJT launches into the new season with 3000 young riders looking to make a name for themselves. U-14 riders will continue to blow minds at selected events. This year will see a change for ski men who will be split into two categories: U-16 and U-18.

Exciting new events are scheduled in both Iceland and Japan and the season finale will return to Verbier, coinciding with the Freeride World Tour final, where the tour champions will be crowned.

Eleven 4* events around the world will determine who makes the cut for the Freeride World Tour 2020: top 3 ski men, top 1 ski women, top 1 snowboard men, top 1 snowboard women per region. With one 4* event having already taken place in New Zealand, 4 events remain up for grabs in Europe and 6 in North America for the 2019 4* season.

This year, the recently upgraded Open Faces 4* event in Montafon will replace the long standing Bigmountain Hochfügen 4* and Jasna Adrenalin will be back in 2020.
This FWQ season will also see new events with exciting venues in locations such as Iceland, Lebanon and Japan. Furthermore, there will be several opportunities for FWQ rookies to collect points at the newly added Verbier Freeride Week 1* event, the Alpbachtal 1* and the Ride&Style 1*.

The final 4* events in both regions will happen on the same weekend in early April in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl and Kirkwood, deciding who will make the Freeride World Tour 2020.

The 2019 FWQ and FJT seasons will feature a diverse international roster, exciting new venues, and plenty of progressive riding by athletes looking to reach the next level and eventually a spot on the FWT20 roster. Stay tuned to FWT/FWQ/FJT social media channels and websites for latest info and registration dates!
