Skiset Group Launches New Platform Along With UK And Ireland PR Campaign

Ski PR agency Ski Press will be working with the Skiset Group and its family of brands for the 2022-23 winter season.

They have some exciting news, including the re-launch of Snowrental, a service dedicated to the UK market.

Skiset was established 27 years ago and is the number one ski and snowboard rental company in the Alps and beyond, servicing over 400 resorts in Europe.

Alongside Skiset, the flagship brand in the group, there’s a number of other brands that service different areas of the market:

  • Skiset – premium brand that delivers high-end rental services across the Alps and the Pyrenees. www.skiset.co.uk
  • Snowrental – the dedicated rental service for the UK market offering skiers and snowboarders a range of rental options in major destinations with a portal that covers around 1,000 shops. Re-launching for the winter 2022-23, the new website will follow shortly. www.snowrental.co.uk
  • Netski – a new service targeted at the millennial generation of skiers and snowboarders, complete with an app and a range of rental options at varying price points. www.netski.com/en
  • Skimium – partner stores in over 175 resorts in France, Andorra and Spain partnered with Decathlon stores, offering a range of rental options at different price points. www.skimium.co.uk

Ski Press will be responsible for communicating with journalists and media organisations in the UK and Ireland across the winter season of 2022-23 and helping to establish strong relationships between the brands and journalists looking to use and review rental equipment.

Arnaud Dufour, Sales Director of Skiset, said: “The UK is a very important customer base for us and we understand how important both quality rental equipment and service is for British and Irish skiers and snowboarders. With the launch of Snowrental, a dedicated service for the UK market, in October 2022, we want to make sure journalists and skiers from the British Isles learn about this opportunity. We look forward to talking more about this as we head into and through the winter season”.

Rob Stewart, PR Director of Ski Press, said: “I’ve personally used Skiset myself on many occasions when visiting the Alps and I believe that there’s some great stories to tell to British skiers and snowboarders as they know more than anyone how key good rental equipment is to their holiday. The 3D scanner technology alone is impressive for anyone looking to rent ski boots, but we have lots of activity planned for the coming months and I look forward to talking about that as we head into the winter”.

Skiset was established in 1994 by former ski champions Annie Famose and Leo Lacroix and leading tour operators Pierre Favre, Alain and Bernard Front and Patrick Lepeudry. It has grown into the largest ski rental provider in Europe and also covers destinations in the USA and Canada.

With a rental market not governed by any particular standards originally, Skiset asserted itself with a technical charter based on three principles:

  • The limited life of the equipment it offered for hire: two years for Discovery and Performance categories and three years for Economy
  • Security: equipment serviced, checked and maintained after each hire
  • All repairs are carried out by qualified professionals

Skiset has a 40% market share of mountain equipment rental in France, with a European turnover of 400 million Euro’s per season across its partner store network. There’s 800 shops in 400 ski resorts in countries including, France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Andorra, Spain, Germany, Bulgaria, Slovenia, USA and Canada.
