Rab & Banff Centre Mountain Film And Book Festival Celebrate 6th Anniversary Of Partnership.

British outdoor brand Rab (owned by Equip Outdoor Technologies Ltd.) and Banff Centre Mountain Film and Book Festival are excited to celebrate the 6th anniversary of their partnership. Taking place from 29th October to 6th November in Banff and Canmore, the 47th edition of the famous festival includes live events, online films, a festival marketplace, exhibitions, campfire conversations, and much more. The films will take the audience on remote journeys, groundbreaking expeditions, and remarkable achievements, as told by world renowned adventurers, photographers, authors, and filmmakers.

Based on the success of previous years, Rab has once again offered the chance to create a unique design for the festival, attracting hundreds of submissions from talented young artists during the public selection process. The final artwork of this year’s winner, Jack Spotwart, was presented to the public recently. Jack is an illustrator based in the Highlands of Scotland, who takes his inspiration from the outdoors, and hopes to inspire others to respect and build a deeper understanding of wild places. His design shows Lake Louise in Banff National Park, reflecting his fascination with the natural world. For more insights into Jack’s piece and what drives his art, have a look HERE.

For Rab, partnering with Banff is all about engaging with The Mountain People community, enabling sustainable access to the outdoors for everybody and sharing good times in the mountains. Activities during the festival include a ‘Hike and Sketch’ with Jack Spotwart; live mountain music with Rab athlete Mark Morris of Rapid Grass; and a panel discussion hosted by Buff, Rab, POW and Mountain Equipment Company on the topic of ‘The Power of Community: How can we initiate change?’, where Rab will share insights into its sustainability strategy aiming to reach Net Zero by 2030.

“We are proud to head into another year with both Rab and Lowe Alpine as partners of the Banff Centre Mountain Film and Book Festival. We are especially excited this year to see the return of a full in-person festival in Banff, CA with 9 days of films, stories, and shared experiences in the mountains.” said Jon Frederick, Rab US Country Manager
