North Face Welcomes Arianna Tricomi, Freeride World Tour Champion Joins Athlete Team

The North Face announced the arrival of 2X Overall Freeride World Tour Champion, Arianna Tricomi, as the newest member of the Global Athlete Team.

Over the past decade Arianna has grown from one of the world’s most promising young athletes into a big mountain skier with a reputation to match.

Well known for her bold and courageous style seeking to combine steep, technical skiing with freestyle elements, Arianna has dominated the Freeride World Tour for last two seasons, taking 1st place overall in both 2018 and 2019. It is this commitment to defying expectations and love of exploring that Arianna hopes to continue into 2020 and beyond.

“I’m extremely stoked to join The North Face team and be surrounded by such a strong group of athletes across all sports. I’m looking forward to working on some exciting projects together and helping inspire others to get out and explore”.

Arianna Tricomi has been skiing since she learned how telemark at the age of six. After that she started taking some tentative first steps into alpine skiing competitions and she's achieved some impressive results along the way.

Things really started to take off for Tricomi when she started focusing on freeskiing when she was 16 years old. Before long she was winning all kinds of plaudits for her impressive displays in slopestyle and, after putting in some hard work on the slopes, she was given the chance to qualify for the Freeride World Tour five years later.

Tricomi gained a place on the European tour in 2015 and hasn't looked back since. She's a consistent performer and amassed a total of 8,000-plus points in each of the past three seasons, which earned her third-place overall in 2016 and 2017.

But Tricomi really excelled in the 2018 season, winning three out of the five events and clocking up 9,700 points to finish in first place overall. She repeated the feat a year later, again dominating the FWT's ski rankings to retain her place as champion. Now she's looking to consolidate her position at the top of the rankings and she wants to be top dog for years to come.

Arianna joins a strong snowsport contingent on The North Face athlete team, with fellow big mountain skiers Markus Eder and Evelina Nilsson and Freeride World Tour Champions Victor De La Rue and Marion Haerty also represented the brand.
