Les Arcs Highlights - Winter 2019/20

Last winter Les Arcs recorded 2.3 million skier days, a new record since the creation of the resort. With the famous Les Arcs funicular having a full face-lift and a new Folie Douce après-ski bar and restaurants opening on the slopes in Arc 1800, the resort continues to develop and extend its offering into the 2019-20 season.

Les Arcs offers 425km of runs suitable for a range of abilities, with pistes starting at 3250m as part of the Paradiski area. The area compromises of five villages all with their own personality and style – Arc 2000, Arc 1950, Arc 1800 and Arc 1600 (which are all car-free) as well as Bourg St Maurice. Les Arcs continues to be famous for its unique architecture, which preserves the mountain environment by taking up as little space as possible.

The ski area will be open from 14th December 2019 until 25thApril 2020

News – Winter 2019-2

Ski Pass Revolution in Les Arcs

Les Arcs have become one of the first resorts to acknowledge that a winter holiday to the mountains is much more than just a ski holiday by changing their lift pass structure. For this season they will offer three types of passes, two of which will include après-ski activities and extra on-mountain services.

Renovation of the funicular between Bourg Saint Maurice and Arc 1600

The famous funicular which takes skiers from the valley floor in Bourg Saint Maurice straight into the Les Arcs ski area has had a full face lift ahead of this winter. A metal structure will cover the station in Bourg Saint Maurice offering a waiting area for passengers. Screens will broadcast real time images of Les Arcs webcams and there is a new comprehensive information and ticket desk. Eco-coconscious British skiers will be able to travel from the UK on the Eurostar train, arriving directly into Bourg Saint Maurice. A 7-minute ride on the renovated funicular will see skiers arrive directly into Arc 1600.

New – Folie Douce in Arc 1800

From 14thDecember La Folie Douce will be opening in Arc 1800. Skiers will be able to get to the resort’s wildest party place by gondola, on skis or on foot. They will be able to enjoy après-ski until 7pm each evening as well as a choice of three restaurants all for different tastes. The Folie Douce will also be open in the evenings for diners each Thursday.

New – Base Camp Lodge in Bourg Saint Maurice

Installed in the old part of Bourg Saint Maurice and occupied until recently by the 7th Battalion of Mountain Infantry, the Base Camp Lodge is offering a new mix of mountain accommodation. The lodge will offer luxury suites, single rooms and “capsule” rooms - connecting rooms that are ideal for either family groups or groups of friends. There will also be dormitories for budget conscious skiers. Bourg Saint Maurice is an ideal base for activity lovers wanting to experience the slopes of Les Arcs and also their neighbouring resorts which are easily accessible from the town.

Renaissance of the Hotel Mercure in Arc 1800

Five million Euros have been invested in the renovation of this high-end hotel in Arc 1800, which now has a swimming pool, spa area and an extensive area for children and families including a climbing wall and games area.
