Halti Is An ISPO Award Winner Again

Each year the sporting goods industry’s respected ISPO-fair honors the most exceptional products with ISPO Award. Independent and international experts are judging several hundreds of products to established criteria. Halti’s Gifted Women’s DrymaxX Ski Jacket was selected ISPO Award Winner in Snowsport category.

Halti’s Gifted jacket is the lightest and most sustainable women’s DrymaxX® ski jacket in Halti’s history. The special airflow lining structure is a new innovation that makes the jacket surprisingly light but manages the temperature inside at the same time. The lightness ensures the jacket to have a sleek look so that it’s perfect for the slopes as well the city streets.

“We had an ambitious goal of ultimate lightness and we achieved it by capturing the air in between special tunnel constructions in the lining. We filled the tunnels with airy and fuzzy wadding to make it feel soft. We didn’t want to make any compromises in the technicality but kept sustainable production as our driving force: we used 100% recycled lining, 50% recycled outer shell material and partly recycled wadding – and minimized the number of easily breakable details”, explains Halti’s experienced product manager Maija Kiiski proudly.

he special air flow lining construction also transfers moisture towards outer layers and keeps the user comfortable throughout the day. You can’t see the lining construction at all from the outside of the jacket, so it looks completely sleek and stylish. The Scandinavian-style simple look makes you want to wear it also on the streets, not only at the slopes.

“We didn’t want to make any compromises in the technicality but kept sustainable production as our driving force. We used 100% recycled lining, recycled outer shell material and partly recycled wadding. We also minimized the number of easily breakable details to make the jacket last for a long time, and to make it easily recyclable”, says Kiiski letting us in on the sustainable design philosophy of the winner jacket.

Sustainability is one of the core values of Halti. Since 2010 Halti has had a sustainable development program called Think Ahead which has guided the way to ever more sustainable production. Recycled materials and long lasting quality products are in our focus. They are trying continuosly find solutions to support circularity and do their part to ensure fair working conditions in their  supply chain. The jacket comes in a recycled and recyclable polybag, and the warehouse and logistic operators in Finland are carbon neutral in their own operations. The hangtags of the jacket are attached with a recycled polyester string and the Think Ahead hang tag is made from recycled cardboard. All the major technical information is printed directly into the jacket to extend the lifecycle fromfurther users’ perspective.
