February 16th & 17th In Schladming: - FIS Ski Cross Racing

In the Styrian holiday region of Schladming-Dachstein, the next sporting highlight is already on the agenda for the coming week: on Thursday and Friday (February 16/17) the finals of the FIS Ski Cross World Cup races will take place in the Crosspark Reiteralm of the ladies and gentlemen. The starting field is top-class, the Austrian team is represented by Katrin Ofner, Johannes "Johnny" Rohrweck, Mathias Graf & Co. Athletes from over 15 nations are at the start. The competitions can be seen live on TV on ORF 1.

The extensive preparatory work for the top races has been in full swing for days. Intensive work is also required when building the track and numerous helpers from the USC Crosspark Reiteralm and the Reiteralm Bergbahnen are busy creating perfect conditions for the athletes. The conditions are ideal - the basic snow cover is excellent and for the fine tuning, snow groomers, excavators and also by hand are used to create the perfect course. Special public areas with catering facilities along the route invite spectators to experience the racing action up close.

Selective route with spectacular steep curves and jumps

"We are all highly motivated to hold the last World Cup races of the season here on the Reiteralm," say the organizers Daniel Berchthaller, Managing Director of the Reiteralm Bergbahnen, and Reinhold Unterkofler, President of the USC Crosspark Reiteralm. "The route is very selective , peppered with many elements, steep curves and jumps. We can expect exciting, top-class races. The cooperation with the ÖSV and with all partners is also working well again. We have already proven our competence in this area several times."
