Alta Badia Gets 2 New Lifts For The 2025/2026 Season From Leitner

Alta Badia ski resort is preparing for the 2025/2026 winter season with two important innovations – one of which has already been in operation since the summer.

The new Crusc 1 gondola lift at the foot of the Heiligkreuzkofel mountain went into operation during the summer season. Built by Leitner, it replaces the previous detachable four-person chairlift. The new system with ten-person gondolas significantly improves comfort and transport capacity – from 1,600 to 2,400 people per hour. In addition to its improved usability in winter, the gondola lift is also designed for summer use: the system allows for the transport of bicycles and strollers – a real plus for an area that is particularly popular with families and outdoor enthusiasts.

The new Forcelles chairlift in Colfosco, also built by Leitner, will be completed at the start of winter. This modern six-seater chairlift replaces the four-seater from 1990, one of the first detachable lifts in the area. The lift connects an altitude of 1,818 meters with the Forcelles mountain hut (2,122 meters) and serves an intermediate run that is very popular with skiers.

“Alta Badia is confirming its position as a benchmark in the tourist landscape of our Alps,” commented Valeria Ghezzi, President of ANEF (Italian Cable Car Association). “ It is a concrete example of how targeted and long-term investments are crucial for keeping areas efficient, attractive, and internationally competitive. In this case, we are talking about facilities and technology – but the same approach has also guided the development of hospitality, cuisine, and services over the years.”
