2024/2025 Power Pass Debuts With No Price Increase

The most powerful season pass went on sale today, boasting new increases - but price isn’t one of them.

The Power Pass has steadily added mountains over the last several years and is the season pass of choice, especially for skiers who live or visit the Southwest. The pass features mountains in Colorado (Purgatory Resort), Arizona (Arizona Snowbowl), Utah (Brian Head Resort and Nordic Valley Ski Area), New Mexico (Sipapu Ski & Summer Resort, Pajarito Mountain and Sandia Peak), Oregon (Willamette Pass Resort) and Texas (Spider Mountain Bike Park). Last March, the Power Pass’ parent company, Mountain Capital Partners, became the majority owner of Valle Nevado of Santiago, Chile.

“Our company is made up of skiers and snowboarders who share one common goal: to remove barriers to skiing,” said Mountain Capital Partners managing partner, James Coleman. “When it comes to our season pass, our priority is to make skiing more accessible for everyone. This year, we discussed how price, blackout dates and financing can keep people from this sport we love. Instead of tackling just one of these obstacles, we went after all three.”

Headquartered in Durango, Colo., Mountain Capital Partners (MCP) owns and manages 14 ski resorts, bike parks and golf courses. In total, the ski and bike resorts feature 8,000 acres of lift-served terrain and more than 30,000 acres total; more than 500 trails, 70 lifts, 20 terrain parks; over 35,000 acres of backcountry snowcat skiing and 200,000 acres of heli-skiing. Since 2015, MCP has invested more than $75 million at its resorts, including new chairlifts, new trails, snowmaking and other capital improvements.

Coleman explained that guests can expect an expanded payment plan, fewer blackout dates and a season pass lineup that features a $0 price increase over last year - plus new products and benefits, too.

What’s New Over Last Year:

  • No price increase. Every Power Pass product is available at the same price as last year.
  • Fewer blackout dates. The Power Pass Select (also known as the 12 Day Power Pass) and the Power Pass Core (also known as the 4 Day Power Pass) have traditionally included 11 blackout dates at some resorts. This year, that number drops to nine, giving families and friends more opportunities to ski together during the holiday season.
  • Expanded 0% interest payment plan. Every season pass at every Power Pass mountain comes with an optional no-interest payment plan to help make paying for season passes convenient. This year, plan payments are extended to December 2024, which means monthly installments are lower than ever.
  • Introducing the Weekday Power Pass. This brand-new pass allows guests to choose the weekday(s) of their choice to ski the entire season (blackout dates apply). Whether guests are looking for Tuesdays or every weekday, the Weekday Power Pass allows them to ski the days they want at every U.S. Power Pass mountain - one-day pass starts at $179 with the ability to add on additional weekdays for even less.
  • Now with more days in Chile. Like last year, Power Pass and Power Pass Select (also known as the 12 Day Power Pass) guests will enjoy 7 FREE days (no blackout dates) for the 2024 winter season at Valle Nevado, the largest ski resort in the Americas. This year, Power Kids (ages 12 and younger) and Super Seniors (ages 75+) will enjoy unlimited 2024 access, too.
  • Added mountains without added cost. Since last summer, the Power Pass has added Valle Nevado of Santiago, Chile, and Albuquerque’s Sandia Peak Ski Area without raising the season pass price. Resort officials remain committed to keeping prices low, even if - and when - new mountains are added.

“Some of life’s best memories happen at these mountains: powder day laps, chairlift conversations with family and friends, watching new skiers build their confidence and skills,” Coleman said. “Moments Like These are what we live for, and the best way to access them - not to mention over 8,000 acres of lift-served terrain - is through the Power Pass.”
