The projected opening for Vertical Descent Tubing Park is Thursday, Dec. 18, from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. as additional snowmaking and Park preparations are still needed.
Snow Trails, which was the first commercial ski area in Ohio, is the only privately-owned Ski Resort in Ohio, and under the same family management since inception. The resort features six chairlifts, including a slow-moving Beginner’s Double Chairlift and two ski carpets dedicated to the Beginner's Area. A third carpet lift is utilized for the Snow Tubing Park with the "Longest Tubing Lanes in Ohio." The Resort offers 21 total trails and is known for Timberline trail - “Longest Trail in Ohio.”
There are three glade areas, plus five Terrain Parks. A Rope Tow added last season in The Woods Terrain Park and a new Swiss Cord Rope Tow by Sun Kid in the Progression and Alpine Terrain Parks added this season. A 9,000 sq. ft. Rental Center houses user-friendly equipment and offers a self-service system. Snow Trails typically opens in early December and the season runs into March. The resort is located off Interstate 71 south of Mansfield on Possum Run Road.
“We are happy to share our pre-season snowmaking efforts have piled-up a great base of snow across the Resort for opening our 65th Season,” said Nate Wolleson, Marketing Manager at Snow Trails. “Our Snowmaking and Grooming Crew has been working round-the-clock to get the slopes ready to deliver a quality experience for our guests. The early snowmaking, combined with natural snow -- something that doesn't happen often before Christmas - has us all excited and anxious to hit the slopes. We are looking forward to seeing everyone back out on the slopes, having fun and making memories with family and friends. This is certainly something we all enjoy and what brings our guests and passholders back Season after Season.”
