USA Nordic - Weekend Preview: Ski Flying Planica World Cups

Men’s Ski Jumping will wrap up the 2023/2024 FIS World Cup circuit this weekend in Planica, Slovenia. Athletes will compete in two Individual HS240 World Cups, along with a Team HS240 World Cup, with live coverage being available on skiandsnowboard.live.

  • Men’s Ski Jumping – Planica, Slovenia: Casey Larson, Decker Dean, Erik Belshaw, Tate Frantz

Men’s Ski Jumping Preview

Casey Larson, Decker Dean, Erik Belshaw and Tate Frantz will compete for the United States at the Men’s Ski Jumping World Cup Final in Planica, Slovenia. Larson last competed on the World Cup circuit in early March, jumping during the Individual and Team HS130 events in Lahti, Finland. Larson finished 42nd overall in the Individual HS130, and 8th overall in the Team HS130 with Andrew Urlaub, Erik Belshaw and Tate Frantz. Dean last competed in the World Cup circuit in early February, placing 49th in the Individual HS128 World Cup in Lake Placid, New York. Both Erik Belshaw and Tate Frantz competed at the Ski Flying World Cup events last weekend in Vikersund, Norway, as part of the Raw Air Tournament.

Frantz carded a new World Cup personal best during the Individual HS240 Ski Flying World Cup on March 17th, placing 16th overall, after jumping to 213.0 meters for 208.1 points. During the first Individual HS240 Ski Flying World Cup on March 17th, Belshaw placed 30th overall, going 192.5 meters for 187.6 points. Belshaw was then able to qualify for the second Individual HS240 Ski Flying World Cup on March 17th, placing 27th overall, after going 168.0 meters for 130.2 points.
