ZipFit Revives A Classic: Introducing The ZipFit Insole Collection

ZipFit, the renowned Italian-made ski boot liner company founded by legendary designer Sven Coomer, proudly announces the launch of a collection of insoles for all feet and footwear types. Originally introduced in 1989 under the name SoleMate, Coomer’s innovative footbed design returns with modern materials and a refreshed lineup: the Zippy, Crossover, Legacy, and Wander.
First conceived while Coomer operated Footloose Sports in Mammoth Lakes, California, this insole mold has stood the test of time. Built on the same biomechanical principles behind the ZipFit innerboot, the ZipFit Insole Collection blends heritage craftsmanship with support and proper foot positioning. Like ZipFit’s renowned liners, all insoles are handcrafted in Italy.
“This insole design has supported skiers, hikers, and workers for decades,” says Managing Director, Chris Dominick. “In reintroducing the ZipFit insole, we’ve refined the materials to match how people move today—on and off the mountain.”
Each insole shares the same proven shape, built for dynamic stability and lasting comfort, while offering distinct materials and performance characteristics:
-
ZIPPY ($60) – Get zippy on and off the mountain. Our thinnest, most flexible insole delivers lightweight, contoured full-foot support with a breathable top sheet.
-
CROSSOVER ($66) – The perfect balance of comfort and control. A moisture-resistant perforated top sheet pairs with a shock-absorbing EVA-cork composite for versatility in any activity.
-
LEGACY ($71) – The tried-and-true original. Combining EVA-cork composite with a leather top sheet that molds to your foot over time, the Legacy brings 30+ years of trusted performance.
-
WANDER ($99) – Built for long days and offering a higher volume fit. A thermoformable cork composite base provides structured support and durability for all day comfort on your feet.
ZipFit insoles feature a dynamic design that cradles and stabilizes the heel bone and lower ankle in a neutral position – reducing twisting, slippage, and fatigue. The deep heel cup provides cushioning with each step, while the dynamic cupping action creates a natural, stable platform that enhances the way your arches and forefoot adapt to terrain.
Whether used inside ZipFit innerboots or everyday footwear, these insoles are intentionally wider to promote stability and mold to the user’s foot over time for a customized fit.
The full collection is available now at zipfit.com/insoles and at select ZipFit retailers.
