Zermatt’s Omnia Becomes Switzerland's Leading Boutique Hotel For The Fifth Time In A Row

For the fifth time, the Hotel The Omnia has been selected by the World Travel Awards as the winner in the category Switzerland's Leading Boutique Hotel. With its awards, the organization promotes the global tourism industry and encourages them to increase the quality of their offers.

The Omnia, under the direction of Managing Director Christian Eckert, has received the World Travel Award in the category Switzerland's Leading Boutique Hotel for the fifth time in a row. The World Travel Awards support, promote and develop the global travel and tourism industry by recognizing outstanding achievements annually and by encouraging their representatives to continuously raise the standard of their product and service offerings. Voting takes place online and votes come from qualified executives working in the travel and tourism industries, as well as from consumers who purchase travel.

“To be honored with this prestigious award by travelers from all over the world for the fifth time in a row is really not a matter of course,” explains Christian Eckert. "This great honor is a true accolade for my team, because it recognizes his passion, his professionalism and his endeavor to offer our guests at THE OMNIA a second home."

THE OMNIA is the contemporary interpretation of the traditional mountain lodge. Here in the Swiss Alps, the mountain lodge, a quintessentially American concept, has been reinvented for its European environment by the New York based architect Ali Tayar (1959 – 2016). This dialogue between two cultures was the starting point for the design.
