Wigwam Introduces Synchroknit With Unrivaled Precision Fit In Sock, New Patented Technology To Debut To The Public In January 2020

Wigwam Mills Inc., the family-owned maker of premium, made-in-the-USA socks since 1905, is proud to introduce SynchroKnit, a completely new technology in sock construction. This sock revolution results in an unrivaled non-slip fit by strategically reducing bulk and excess yarn, so the sock hugs the details of your foot, cradles your arch and provides just the right amount of room in the toe box. Your feet are supported and more comfortable, so you perform better.

Wigwam has always been a sock innovation company. In the 1930s, it was the first to work with Dupont to debut stretch yarns in socks. In the new millennium, the 114-year-old brand introduced Ultimax and InGenius moisture management technologies, and now Wigwam introduces its next patented technology focused on fit, SynchroKnit - the “Next Generation” in sock construction.

By strategically eliminating stitches in a gradient from top to toe, a uniquely contoured fit is achieved. The arch is comfortably embraced, while the double-Y heel pocket retains the usual number of stitches, so it is deep and won’t slip. The toe box continues to have plenty of room for toes to spread out during launch for increased stability. With reduced bulk and contoured but not constrictive construction, SynchroKnit is the most precise fit on the market, a fit that redefines the norm in socks.

“The concept is easier to describe by illustrating what’s not there. We are challenging our customers to imagine what they don’t need in a sock. Less bulk means a more precise fit. A more precise fit leads to enhanced performance,” says Tom Wheeler, CEO of the brand and a lifelong runner. “This is a real revolution and it will change how the next generation of socks are knit,” Wheeler says.

The SynchroKnit synthetic running sock collection will be available to consumers starting January 2020. Wigwam will be debuting the new technology at the June 2019 Outdoor Retailer show in Denver, Colorado.
