Whats New At Boyne Resorts For Winter 2025/26?

Over the past five years, Boyne Resorts has installed more than 20 new chairlifts across its destinations, with two more launching this winter season—part of an unprecedented era of mountain innovation. Beyond ski, resorts are introducing new dining, scenic experiences, and events. Here'swhat's new for winter 2025/26:
Boyne Mountain, Michigan
Since its opening in 1949, Boyne Mountain has been a hotspot for ski innovation. Home to the Midwest's first eight-place chairlift, this winter, the mountain will debut Iglu Snow & Ice Bar - a new mountaintop apres ski experience steps from SkyBridge Michigan. In the fall, don't miss SkyBridge Michigan, the world’s longest timber-towered suspension bridge, offering visitors a chance to walk 100+ feet above the Boyne Valley and immerse themselves in a kaleidoscope of autumn color.
Big Sky Resort, Montana
Big Sky continues to be guided by an ambitious, forward-looking vision, transforming both the ski industry and what many once dimissed as "a crazy idea" into one of America's premier mountain destinations. The new Explorer Gondola (the resort's 13th new lift in 10 years) creates a base-to-summit lift network transporting riders atop Lone Peak, where Kircliff, a stunning glass viewing platform awaits, cantilevered off the 11,166-foot summit. Off-slope, M by the Alinea Group begins a limited winter residency in December. The One&Only Moonlight Basin, the brand's first ski destination, opens in November.
The Summit at Snoqualmie | Alpental, Washington
Alpental is upgrading the iconic Edelweiss chairlift, affectionately known by many as “Chair 2.” The new triple chair will increase uphill capacity by 40%, decrease ride time by 30%, add the chair’s first safety bar, and give experts even better access to some of the most legendary terrain in the Northwest. Steep, deep, and full of character - Alpental always provides.
Sunday River, Maine
Sunday River is known as New England’s “happy place” for good reason—whether it’s the renovated, slopeside Jordan Hotel lobby, the Jordan 8's weatherproof bubble chairs with heated seats, the magic of stepping into a giant après igloo, or the snow you can count on that arrives in early November. This season brings even more to love, with a new booster pumphouse doubling snowmaking capacity on Barker and Locke peaks, and the return of The Igloo for its third season, featuring exciting new additions you’ll just have to experience for yourself.
Sugarloaf, Maine
Sugarloaf celebrates its 75th anniversary while continuing to expand. Following last season's successful West Mountain Expansion (120 new acres of intermediate/beginner terrain and a new high-speed quad), the resort is developing Snowcross, a new slopeside neighborhood. Their newly launched bike park is already making waves as New England's newest lift-serviced downhill destination.
Loon Mountain, New Hampshire
Loon’s 60th season is marked by its continued commitment to lift experience and snow quality. North Peak is getting a major boost—adding more snowmaking firepower at Loon’s tallest peak. Little Sass—a brand-new carpet lift will debut this winter with a shorter ride, making learning more inviting for first timers. High-speed upgrades to Sarsaparilla Carpet’s top and bottom terminals will create smoother rides and give beginners more time where it counts—on the slopes.
Brighton Resort, Utah
Home to Utah's fastest chairlift, Crest 6, Brighton’s welcoming, no-frills vibe alongside some of the biggest snowstorms that Big Cottonwood Canyon provides make the resort a Utah legend. This winter, stop by The Holiday House – a brand-new, mid-mountain Christmas-themed lodge that serves up food, drinks, and festive vibes all holiday season long. For another unique dining experience, the Snake Creek Gondola Cabins offer private outdoor dining in cozy, repurposed gondola cabins right outside Snake Creek Lodge.
The Highlands, Michigan
Ride the Midwest's first and fastest six-place lift at the Highlands. In spring 2026, The Highland's world-class golf finds a new home: on the slopes. At the inaugural Swing & Slide Golf Challenge, participants will play a round of snow golf starting with a mountaintop tee off overlooking Little Traverse Bay. Part sport and part spectacle, competitors will play five holes while simultaneously skiing down to the Camelot base area.
Cypress Mountain, British Columbia
Just 30 minutes from downtown Vancouver, Cypress is the ultimate winter playground in the North Shore Mountains, offering downhill and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snow tubing. This year, the Tube Park will expand from 5 to 8 lanes in a new central location with convenient access to the Cafe, washrooms and ticket office.
Pleasant Mountain, Maine
Pleasant Mountain, just one hour outside of Portland, Maine, joins the New England Gold Pass, alongside sister resorts Sunday River, Sugarloaf, and Loon.
Boyne Resorts is independent, and family owned and operated. Founded by Everett Kircher in 1948, they continue to be owned and led by the Kircher family, with Stephen Kircher serving as CEO.
