Val Gardena Ready For Summer

Val Gardena is a trilingual, 25-km valley in South Tyrol, home to the breathtaking Puez-Odle Nature Park, and is surrounded by the most majestic mountains in the world –the peaks of the Odle Group, Stevia, Puez, Cir summits, Sella and the unmistakable Sassolungo - the area was once vast ocean and is so unique because of its ancient, geological history: deep seas have given way to the most beautiful mountains in the Dolomites.

Geoportal

The new geoportal creates a bridge between the past and the present; visitors can discover locations in Val Gardena and the surrounding valleys where remarkable historical artifacts or works have been found or created using an interactive map. For example, the portal links information about archaeological or paleontological discoveries to their excavation sites, connects the region’s characteristic minerals to the unique geological features of the Alpe di Siusi, and associates various works of art with the economic and industrial centers of past centuries and their distinctive architecture. The digital geoportal features objects from the Val Gardena Museum collection, as well as representative works and artifacts from the region’s architectural heritage. https://geo.museumgherdeina.it/en
