Gourmets will cycle across the region from mid-June and enjoy culinary delights. Three KochArt companies are on the route and each offer a course Passing lakes, famous mountain giants and romantic farms, the guided "Gourmet E-Bike Tour" runs through the Pillerseetal. In addition to scenic highlights, three top restaurants await as culinary highlights along the way. From the starter to the dessert, guests feast on one course each before getting on the bike again. What is special: All three restaurants are part of the KochArt companies that work with local farmers and producers and are committed to processing mainly regional and seasonal products at the highest level.

“Bicycling is very trendy. The electric motor enables our vacationers to explore several excursion destinations in one day - and that in a relaxed manner, ”explains Armin Kuen, managing director of the Pillerseetal tourism association. The guided “Gourmet E-Bike Tour” bundles the highlights of the region and is ideal for beginners and pleasure cyclists. “Elevation meters and narrow trails don't count here. The scenic experiences, encounters with our real Tyrolean innkeepers and of course the regional food at the highest level are what make it so special, ”he continues.

The "Gourmet E-Bike Tour" offers two routes that change weekly. This means that holidaymakers who stay longer in the Pillerseetal experience more variety. The routes hardly differ from the sporty demands, but in the choice of restaurants. Before the start - every Thursday at 9.30 a.m. at the valley station of the Pillersee mountain railway - the guide first checks the bikes for fitness to drive. By the way: Flexibility is no stranger to the experts at Pillerseetal. They adapt to the needs of the guests. If vacationers need breaks or want to quickly hold their legs in one of the numerous lakes, this is of course included. The guides also know the secret abbreviations like the back of their hand.

Back to the tour : One route leads first to Hochfilzen, which captivates with the small Wiesensee. Then it continues to Fieberbrunn to the Hotel Alte Post restaurant. There is a little break here and the starter is served. Fortified, it goes a bit uphill - luckily the electric motor helps - first to the Streuboden middle station, then on to the Wildalpgatterl. At 1,300 meters, the view is simply magnificent. But that's not the only outstanding thing: the landlady harvests lettuce, vegetables and herbs in her own garden, and she bakes the delicious wood-fired bread fresh every day. After eating, just let it roll down, past Lauchsee, to St. Jakob in Haus. There will definitely be space for dessert in the esskultur by Unterlechner restaurant.

The other route shows other highlights of the region. Above all the Pillersee, after which the valley is named. It rarely has more than 20 degrees to offer even in midsummer. But it is crystal clear and turquoise blue. The first culinary experience is in Waidring. The Sendlhof pampers you with a starter right from the start. Via the limestone circuit you go to Fieberbrunn to the Hotel Alte Post restaurant, which is already waiting for the main course. The Buchenstein circuit then leads back to St. Jakob i. House where the esskultur by Unterlechner restaurant serves the last course.

On both routes, holidaymakers in the distance are accompanied by the Jakobskreuz, which is enthroned on the Buchensteinwand. The 30 meter high landmark of the Pillerseetal is the largest accessible summit cross in the world. It is dedicated to the pilgrims who have been passing by for centuries on their way from Salzburg to Santiago de Compostela.

Good to know : Since the KochArt companies offer seasonal food, the menus differ from month to month. Allergies, preferences etc. are of course taken into account.
