TechnoAlpin Snowmaster, 2023 Updates

When it comes to snowmaking operations, not only the snow guns and machine rooms components are key success factors, but decision aid tools are also critical to achieve greater efficiency, maximize available snowmaking hours and optimize the utilization of resources. With SNOWMASTER, the web-based application, TechnoAlpin has developed a powerful tool that gives access to ski resort management teams into their past, current and future snowmaking operations.

The use of SNOWMASTER contributes to unleash the full potential of snowmaking installations, by giving a deep insight into operating parameters. Based on resort specific settings, SNOWMASTER will help the management team and snowmaking crew to make the right decisions in order to maximize the season’s snow production campaign and better control the use of available resources.

CONTROL YOUR COST: FOLLOW YOUR ENERGY CONSUMPTION!

Because in today’s world, energy consumption is a critical factor for snowmaking, the software development team of TechnoAlpin has introduced a new feature in SNOWMASTER for the 2023/2024 season. Now the users will have access to energy indexes that allow to monitor closely the energy consumptions of machine room components and trail equipment [in kWh/m3], on a daily basis, with a seasonal summary.

4 energy indexes are available in SNOWMASTER: EI1 - Total Plant" Energy Index, EI2 - "Water Supply" Energy Index, EI3 - "Snow producers with on-board compressor" Energy Index and EI4 - "Snow producers with centralized air" Energy Index.

  • EI1: "Total Plant" Energy Index: Ratio between the sum of energy consumed by all components and the total water/snow volume used by all the snow producers.
  • EI2: "Water Supply" Energy Index: Ratio between the sum of energy consumed by water related components and the total water/snow volume used by all the snow producers.
  • EI3: "Snow producers with on-board compressor" Energy Index: Ratio between the energy consumed by snow producers with on-board compressors and the total water/snow volume used by those snow producers.
  • EI4: "Snow producers with centralized air" Energy Index: Ratio between the energy consumed by centralized air related components and the total water/snow volume used by snow producers with centralized air.

With these 4 energy indexes, ski resort operators will always know exactly where they’re at with the energy consumption for their snow production and therefore they will have the opportunity to make the right decisions and make proactive adjustment on a regular basis, while keeping energy costs in line and optimizing the usage of available resources.

For the 2023 update, the map view of SNOWMASTER also brings additional features, with new graphic markers that help identify easily the status of snow pits on the slopes: unequipped, snow producers in operation and snow producer off.
