Sunday River Plans Opening Day - Thursday, November 18

Sunday River Resort will open for the 2021/22 ski season on Thursday, November 18, at 9:00AM, for New England passholders, Ikon passholders, and New England 5-Day and Maine 4-Day ticket pack holders only. The resort will open advanced terrain on the T2 and Upper Sunday Punch trails, accessible via the Locke Mountain Triple lift in Barker Basin, with downloading from the lift’s mid-station. All plans depend on weather and snow conditions; keep an eye on sundayriver.com and check the resort’s social media channels for the most up-to-date information.

Weather was favorable for snowmaking conditions Monday evening through Wednesday afternoon. The resort ran 225 snowguns to build up enough snow for opening conditions, after a summer of extensive snowmaking upgrades, including 9.5 miles of new snowmaking pipe and over 130 new snowguns.

“I am incredibly proud of the hard work our team has put in these past few weeks,” says General Manager, Brian Heon. “We're always pushing to get our trails open as fast as possible for our passholders and loyal guests, and our team is making it happen”.

Skier services will be available out of Barker Lodge, and the Barker Food Court and Barker Bar will also be open for guests. Season passes and ticket packs are on sale for purchase at Barker Lodge and South Ridge, as well as online now, and both can be used right away. The resort will welcome day tickets starting Sunday, November 21.
