Pistenhotels.Info Award 2026 Honors 50 Best Hotels Directly On The Ski Slopes.

Just in time for the start of the winter season, the holiday portal www.pistenhotels.info presented the pistenhotels.info Award 2026, recognizing the 50 best hotels directly on the ski slopes.
For the sixth edition of this coveted award, more than 900 hotels throughout the Alps were evaluated. Two establishments from Obertauern topped the new ranking: Hotel Schneider took first place, followed by Hotel Kristall in second. The Perfeldhof in Hinterglemm (third place), the K1 Mountain Chalet in Bruneck/South Tyrol (fourth place), and Hotel Bruckreiterhof in Schladming (fifth place) rounded out the top five. A total of 43 of the award-winning hotels are located in Austria, six in South Tyrol, and one in Switzerland. The complete ranking of the top 50 can be found at: www.pistenhotels.info/award
"Our award recognizes hotels located directly on the ski slopes that boast outstanding guest satisfaction – these are precisely the exceptional establishments we want to highlight," explains Christoph Reichl, editor-in-chief of pistenhotels.info . "To achieve this, we compare the hotels' facilities, offerings, and services just as carefully as actual guest satisfaction. Additional services such as ski rental, ski servicing, ski lessons, and guided ski tours are also important."
The "no-fake" factor neutralizes review marketing.
In addition to the reviews on pistenhotels.info guest opinions on Google, TripAdvisor, and HolidayCheck were also evaluated and included in the ranking. A specially developed "no-fake factor" neutralizes the influence of marketing-driven or even purchased reviews. "When analyzing guest satisfaction, we also examine the negative reviews from the last five years. We compare the number of bad reviews to the number of rooms. This allows us to identify which hotels are truly able to satisfy their guests," explains Reichl.

The pistenhotels.info Award, first presented in 2020, annually recognizes the 50 best hotels with direct ski-in/ski-out access. This award differs from other hotel awards primarily in that it incorporates multiple independent review sources for its ranking. As a first step, the editorial team researches the hotels' service and amenities and combines this information with guest satisfaction data from three major review portals (Google, TripAdvisor, HolidayCheck) as well as the pistenhotels.info platform itself. A specially developed "No-Fake Factor" neutralizes the influence of marketing-driven or purchased reviews by calculating the ratio of negative reviews to the number of hotel rooms.
