SnowKidz Reaches 500 Event Organisers

In 2009, Ski Club Oberstdorf became the first registered SnowKidz Organiser. Now, 10 years later, the 500th SnowKidz Organiser and incidentally the 54th country has been confirmed with the registration of the Mongolian Ski Federation.

Over the course of 10 years, SnowKidz has seen an incredible effort from all its Organisers with 3’827 events having taken place. To date over 3.4 tonnes of materials have been provided to Organisers, documents such Cook Books which help plan, stage and run events have been downloaded more than 2’000 times and over 250’000 CHF of prize money has been given through the SnowKidz Award.

FIS President Gian Franco Kasper commented “While World Snow Day brings children to the snow for one day, SnowKidz events allow them to stay engaged all season long. Well done to all the Organisers on such a big effort and my congratulations on reaching 500. ”

Looking ahead, SnowKidz shows no signs of slowing down. The 2020 SnowKidz Award will take place at the end of the Northern Hemisphere season, plans are already underway to expand the offering in the SnowKidz Organiser Care Packages and special project code named “Play” will be taking place next season.
