Snowboard world champion Andreas Prommegger, together with a renowned entrepreneur from the cable car supply industry, is taking over the International Ski Area Test.

The International Ski Area Test, an established and internationally recognized seal of approval for the highest standards in the alpine region for over 30 years, is entering a new era.

Global premium seal of approval for the highest standards

The International Ski Area Test has been considered a premium brand and leading seal of approval for decades, and under the leadership of Klaus Hönigsberger, it has made a significant contribution to the further development of quality, safety, and the diversity of offerings in Alpine tourism. Now, with Andreas Prommegger as Managing Director, the organization is embarking on a new chapter.

"It is a great pleasure and honor for me to lead the International Ski Area Test into the future. Evaluations based on objective quality criteria and comparisons with the best are the driving force and essential parameters of a continuous process to increase guest satisfaction. We intend to launch this independently of any media channels starting with the 2026/2027 winter season," explains Andreas Prommegger, MBA, Managing Director of International Ski Area Test GmbH. With a new look, fresh ideas, and a modern concept, the International Ski Area Test aims to continue being a premium seal of approval for the highest standards.

Cooperation with strong partners

For the coming years, the new management will also focus on close cooperation with the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber's (WKO) cable car association and with Austrian cable car partners. Together, they aim to ensure quality and safety in alpine tourism for the long term.
