Skiresort.Info Lists The Worlds Best Ski Resorts

The new 2025/2026 season is just around the corner. Ski and snowboard owners are champing at the bit, and winter sports regions are preparing for their guests. While the snow cannons are being put into position, the Skiresort.info team has been tirelessly testing and evaluating ski resorts. ‘For our constantly updated list of the best resorts, we have personally tested well over 500 ski resorts worldwide in recent years,’ says Oliver Kern, founder and managing director of Skiresort.info, the world's largest test portal for ski resorts. Since 1998, the awards have been considered the most important industry award by ski and snowboard fans, as well as by the ski resorts themselves.

The world’s largest ski resort test portal, “Skiresort.info” provides detailed and personal test reports on leading international ski destinations. Carefully compiled data on over 6,100 ski resorts on every continent also make “Skiresort” a comprehensive source of information for skiers. On the websites, winter sports enthusiasts can find around 3,400 piste maps, 900 daily updated snow reports, 5,300 weather reports, 5,500 webcams and useful information about new lifts. All data is also available on the free “Skiresort.info app”.

The company has been successfully established on the German market since 1998. The English-language platform “Skiresort.info” went online in 2010. The world’s leading ski resort portal, “Skiresort” is also available in Dutch, Italian and French versions. The test portal is operated by the Munich-based company “Skiresort Service International GmbH” with Managing Directors Oliver Kern and Peter Krafft. In the 2024/25 winter season, they reached 18 million visitors on their online platforms.

The pioneers of ski resort ratings

There are over 6,100 ski resorts in 86 countries worldwide. In addition to providing a comprehensive overview of all ski resorts,
Skiresort.info has set itself the task of compiling test reports on ski resorts around the world. Since 1998, the test professionals at the Skiresort.info test portal have visited several hundred ski resorts, some of them multiple times, and rated them according to 18 individual criteria. Decisive factors include size, range of slopes and snow reliability, but also family friendliness, snow parks, the location of accommodation on the slopes and environmental friendliness. Ski resorts can achieve a maximum of 5 stars in each category. The final result is calculated from the average of all ratings:

The new industry awards for the best ski resorts

‘And the test winner award goes to ...’. In 2025,
Skiresort.info, the world's largest test portal for ski resorts, once again selected its best ski resorts worldwide. The annual test winner awards are regarded as industry awards by ski and snowboard enthusiasts as well as by the ski resorts themselves. No wonder, since the awards have already been presented for the twenty-seventh time. Every year, the ski resort experts at Skiresort.info bring their worldwide test results directly from the slopes. Based on the latest reports, the Skiresort team led by Oliver Kern and Peter Krafft selected the 2025 test winners.

This year, 28 ski resorts can boast 5-star status – the crème de la crème of winter sports resorts worldwide. Well-known names such as

‘The differences in quality among the top group are often minimal.
Tignes/Val d'Isère, for example, offers first-class slopes with runs of all levels of difficulty that appeal not only to experts. And there is hardly any other ski resort with as many high-quality restaurants and huts as Hochzillertal,’ says Peter Krafft, managing director of the world's largest ski resort test portal.

As in the previous season, top-class ski resorts with up to 80 km and 60 km of slopes were once again selected, as well as insider tips with up to 40 km, 30 km and 20 km of slopes. ‘Ski enthusiasts who place particular emphasis on specific individual criteria in a ski resort will also find what they are looking for among our test winners,’ explains Oliver Kern.

As a special treat, the
Skiresort.info test team has also awarded a number of very special highlights in the ski resorts. The best indoor ski hall can be found at Alpenpark Neuss in North Rhine-Westphalia, the best black run (Piculin) is at Kronplatz, and the best glacier ski area is at Kitzsteinhorn. The best new lift – from Doppelmayr, of course – is in Montana at the Big Sky Resort ski area. The most breathtaking panorama is promised by the Aletsch Arena with its view of the Aletsch Glacier. The best ski circuit is the Sellaronda in the Dolomites. And the best ski valley is the Zillertal.
