Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau Continues To Invest In Quality And Comfort

With 114 kilometers of varied slopes, modern lifts, and numerous highlights, the Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau is one of Tyrol's most popular ski resorts. To continue offering winter sports enthusiasts the best possible conditions, significant investments will be made in infrastructure for the upcoming winter season – a total of around €3 million, ranging from optimized slope quality to innovative access systems.
Investments in slopes and snowmaking
The quality of the slopes is being continuously improved throughout the ski area. This includes the ongoing expansion of the snowmaking systems to enable even more efficient and resource-conserving snow production. Starting next winter season, 30 additional snow cannons will be put into operation in the Alpbachtal valley and 14 new snow cannons in the Wildschönau valley. This brings the ski area closer to its goal of being able to complete the base snowmaking within just three days. The new machines also consume significantly less energy, making another important contribution to the sustainable use of natural resources.
These measures ensure perfect conditions on all slopes and increase snow reliability from the beginning to the end of the winter season.
New access system: Ski pass on smartphone
Another innovation concerns access to the lifts: With SKIDATA's new "mobile ticket" technology, hourly and day tickets can be loaded directly onto a smartphone after purchase in the online shop. The access terminals have also been completely replaced. Mobile tickets are available in the online shop. Access is now conveniently granted via mobile phone; a physical data carrier such as a keycard or deposit card is no longer required.
New children's ski slope at Schatzberg
At Schatzberg, an existing ski tow path from the Schatzbergbahn mountain station to the Hahnkopfbahn will be used as a new blue children's slope. This creates another attractive option for families and beginner skiers.
Further improvements for children and beginner skiers
An additional conveyor belt is being installed in Schatzberg Zwergenland. Winter sports enthusiasts can also look forward to a new, 110-meter-long, covered conveyor belt at the Markbachjochbahn mountain station – ideal for comfortable ascents and first turns in the snow.
