Schladming-Dachstein’s Brass Music Festival Takes Place From July 8th To 12th

Around 1,500 musicians from over 15 nations, more than 50 concerts in five days, and a spectacular performance by an American college band at the Planai Stadium:

As part of the "MID EUROPE" music festival (July 8th to 12th), the Austrian holiday region of Schladming-Dachstein will once again be transformed into a resounding center of brass music next week. The 26th edition of this major event in Styria's Enns Valley will feature the usual musical diversity, with 36 ensembles, 10 indoor concerts , and 42 open-air concerts . From classical brass band music to Bohemian melodies to rousing marching bands, international ensembles will bring the region to life. Spectacular return of the "Schladming Tattoo" marching show at the Planai Stadium. The absolute highlight of the festival will be the spectacular "Schladming Tattoo" marching show, which returns to the Planai Stadium on July 11th. Following its successful performance in 2022, an American marching band is expected once again.
The University of Michigan Marching Band, known for rocking entire football stadiums in the USA, will present a breathtaking show. The program will be complemented by the Upper Austrian Military Band, the Stein an der Enns Regional Music Band, and the Vielharmonie Kirchlinteln marching band. A total of over 350 musicians will participate in the unique tattoo marching show. A diverse program for all ages: At the opening concert on Tuesday evening (July 8) at the Schladming Congress Center, the renowned Bavarian Police Orchestra will provide a brilliant start, along with a welcoming fanfare from the University of Michigan Marching Band.
A special experience is offered by "Kids & Cops in Concert" on Wednesday morning (July 9) under the motto "When the Police Set the Beat," where the World Youth Wind Orchestra and the police will delight the youngest music fans with a diverse supporting program.
The traditional "Schladming Town Festival - Long Night of Music" on Thursday (July 10th) transforms the town center into a musical hotspot, where artists from all over the world provide captivating sounds. Extended business hours, a colorful kids' area, and regional delicacies round out the diverse experience.
The festival is complemented by church concerts and an open-air concert by the Upper Austrian Military Band in Haus im Ennstal, as well as workshops and master classes for music enthusiasts. The international orchestra projects WYWOP (for young talents aged 18 to 32) and WAWOP (for musicians aged 32 and over), which form the heart of the festival, are also at the center of attention.
