Advent on the Pürgg - The nativity scene of Styria

On the first two weekends in Advent, the romantic town of Pürgg is transformed into a Christmas "nativity scene". A unique Advent market moves into the houses and enchants its visitors year after year. During Advent on the Pürgg, visitors will not find any “stalls” in the traditional sense. The exhibitors present their diverse, traditional handicrafts in the stables, garages, barns and houses of the picturesque little village.

A wide-ranging supporting program - such as baking and handicrafts with children, visits to the Fahringer landscape nativity scene, music and readings in the parish church, traditional Krampus games, the Glöckler run, guided tours in the Johannes chapel or a living nativity scene - lets Pürgg and its visitors in on the first two Advent weekends an incomparable idyll and Christmas mood sink.
