Salomon Appoints Scott Mellin As Global Chief Brand Officer

Salomon is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Mellin as Global Chief Brand Officer. In his new role, Mellin will lead the company’s global marketing organization from its headquarters in Annecy in the French Alps.

Mellin has a storied career in the snow, sport and outdoor industries as an executive and consultant including engagements with Oakley, Callaway, The North Face, Head, Scott, AspenSnowmass, Black Diamond, Audi and
Lamborghini, among many others.

Mellin will lead the marketing of a Salomon brand that is recognized as the global leader in trail running and winter sports. Since its inception in 1947, the company has pioneered a litany of innovative products in the outdoor industry. Today, the brand creates high-performance footwear, apparel, gear and winter sports equipment that is used by a loyal community of followers from the high peaks of the Alps to urban environments around the world. In 2022, Salomon winter sports products helped the brand’s team of athletes win 28 medals at the Olympic Games. At the same time, the brand’s SportStyle footwear collection is worn on fashion runways around the world.

Mellin will be relocating from the US to Annecy, France in the coming months. A passionate outdoor sportsman, he most recently held the role of Global GM of Mountain Sports at The North Face, where he led the efforts to revive brand authenticity while developing and launching industry changing and award-winning fabric technologies. He also pioneered the relaunch of the brand’s footwear category, and led the company’s sustainability programming, advancing its total recycled product content from 7% to more than 70% in four years.
