REI And Copper Mountain Invite Guests To Add Some Adventure To Their Summer

Explore the Colorado Rocky Mountains and try something new this summer with experiences and classes through REI’s Adventure Station now available at Copper Mountain. From guided stargazing complete with beer and wine to summiting a 13er to sharpening backcountry survival skills, a menu of programs offer unique Colorado experiences throughout the summer months. Highlights for brand-new summer experiences include:

  • Ales and Astronomy: Explore the stars from the top of Copper Mountain during a casual evening with REI. Guides will whisk participants to the private venue where they’ll be treated with beer and wine while discussing the constellations of the Northern Hemisphere. All participants must be 21 or older.
  • Colorado Summit Hikes – Jacque Peak: REI guides will lead participants through the fundamentals of high-alpine travel to the summit of Jacque Peak at Copper Mountain. Hikers will enjoy the serenity of summiting a 13er and leave with new skills and new friends.
  • Backcountry Self Reliance – Surviving the Alpine: Participants join REI guides for hands-on exploration of the Ten Essentials. During this course, participants will develop the framework and skills to effectively implement the tools to manage an alpine backcountry survival situation. This course will help new and experienced outdoor travelers build a stronger comfort for those unplanned misadventures.
  • Other classes include Summer Mountain Mixology, Adventure Race Navigation Techniques, and Lunch at the Summit: Copper Peak. From Aug. 18-19, camp under the stars at 10,000 feet in the backcountry of Copper Mountain during the Women’s Yoga Campout.
