Pacific Group Resorts Appoints New GMs For Wintergreen & Mount Washington

Pacific Group Resorts is pleased to announce that Zachary Marlowe and Mike Manara have been promoted to serve as General Managers of Wintergreen Resort and Mount Washington Alpine Resort, effective July 1. These internal promotions reflect our ongoing commitment to cultivating leaders from within and speak to the deep bench strength across the organization. Zach and Mike exemplify the opportunities for professional growth we strive to offer.

Zach Marlowe, a 20-year mountain resort veteran, has served as Director of Operations at Wintergreen since 2018. Marlowe got his start skiing at Ski Liberty in Pennsylvania and joined the National Ski Patrol in high school through a Boy Scouts Explorer Post. After college, he stepped into the ski industry full-time and steadily advanced through roles in nearly every department—from lifts and snowmaking to guest services and risk management.

Mike Manara, who currently serves as Mount Washington’s Senior Director of Operations, has been a cornerstone of the resort’s growth and community engagement for over 25 years. His portfolio has spanned lift operations, snow sports schools, slopes grooming, rentals, retail, Nordic activities, special events, and summer programming including development of the Bike Park and Eagle’s Flight ZipTour.

These transitions also mark the retirements of two respected industry leaders. Jay Gamble is stepping down after four years as GM of Wintergreen and more than four decades in the ski industry, during which he guided the resort through a pivotal period of growth and cultural transformation. At Mount Washington, Dean Prentice is retiring after nearly a decade at the helm, having led significant operational improvements and helped elevate the resort’s year-round offerings. We are grateful for their leadership and the strong foundations they leave behind.
