Operating Permit Granted, 8-Seater Chairlift “Mitterhausalm I” On The Planai Is Ready To Go

After seven months of construction, the new 8-seater chairlift "Mitterhausalm I" has received its operating permit. The modern lift, built by Doppelmayr, replaces the previous 4-seater chairlift "Sonneck" and provides a faster, more comfortable connection from Hauser Kaibling to Planai. It is scheduled to officially open to the public on December 5.
With a final capacity of 3,000 people per hour and a travel time of just three minutes, waiting times are reduced to a minimum. Heated seats, weather protection hoods, and ergonomic upholstery guarantee a comfortable ride even on cold winter days. The operating permit for the cable car was granted by the responsible authority, the State of Styria, under the direction of Court Councillor Christopher Grunert.
“We are delighted, because the new 8-seater chairlift ‘Mitterhausalm I’ raises the ski connection from Hauser Kaibling to the Planai to a new level of quality,” said Planai Managing Director Georg Bliem. “The new lift stands for maximum comfort and
Efficiency – and for the excellent cooperation of everyone involved. Thanks to their great commitment, all work was completed on time and successfully. My special thanks go to the authorities, the local government, the contractors, and our entire team.”
The Styrian government, the authority responsible for issuing the operating permit for the cable car, also emphasized the precise and smooth implementation of the project. The new system meets the highest technical standards and underscores Planai-Hochwurzen-Bahnen's commitment to providing guests with a modern, high-performance, and extremely comfortable infrastructure.
